add_action FR-MUD's efun help add_action void add_action(string fun, string cmd, int priority) Set up a local function fun to be called when user input matches the command cmd. Functions called by a player command will get the arguments as a string. It must then return 0 if it was the wrong command, otherwise 1. If it was the wrong command, the parser will continue searching for another command, until one returns true or give error message to player. Always have add_action() called only from an init() routine. The object that defines commands must be present to the player, either being the player, being carried by the player, being the room around the player, or being an object in the same room as the player. Never define an action that will call the function exit(), because it is a special function. The order of the called parameters is basicly random. If you definately want your function to be called before or after some of the other commands use the priority flag on the end. If this is set to a +ve value the command will be executed before any thing with a lower value. As this defaults to 0, makeing it +ve means it gets executed before almost everything. Makeing it -ve means it gets executed last. The action to match on can have a * in it. The part of the verb after this * is optional. ie l*ook Means that the functionw ill get called when the player type l lo loo or look. If the * is on the end it calls the function with the parmater being set to all of the string after the command. ie add_action("'*", "do_say"); would call the functionm say with the value of "bing" if the player typed "'bing".
