  sorry to respond to my own post, but the last incarnation of Majik as a
text game was 4, which does work, and is implemented in LPC on top of
MudOS v22 with a custom telnet type client to handle all the display
twickery... 
  
  the readme file i spit up in the previous post was from 3...

  anyway, i'd love to see someone use something like this to build an ADOM
style multiplayer game...

  one amusing anecdote from the readme file is that they started
developing graphical clients when they ran out of ASCII characters to
represent all the different items/terrain/creatures in the game...
