The notion that > property can hold property is a rather ridiculous one. :-P Well, considering that all property is is an arbitrary claim by an entity over something else, not really. If the property that is doing the holding can enforce, or have enforced by another party, its claim, then it can be said to own it just as surely as anyone owns 'his' house (which, after all, consists of nothing more than a combination of cultural acceptance of the idea of ownership, and enforcement via the military and police.) > And besides, I think the Xena role and appeal is peculiarly a male fantasy. ;-) > I know TONS of women that love Xena. The gay demographic is the second wealthiest demographic in the US, after the Jewish one (or so I've read in multiple places). That alone, and the fact that 3% of 6 billion is a massive number, makes it worth targetting. No mud gets any significant portion of the internet to use it, and all target niche audiences. We target, for instance, people who have disposeable cash, as opposed to the Quake kiddies. Small percentage of the small mudding population. Quite lucrative. Never underestimate niches. Media empires get built on collections of them. --matt _______________________________________________ MUD-Dev mailing list MUD-Dev#kanga,nu http://www.kanga.nu/lists/listinfo/mud-dev

References:

Re: [MUD-Dev] Simulating Ancient Greece WAS: Same-Sex Marriage

From: "Jon Lambert" <jlsysinc#ix,netcom.com>

Prev by Date: Re: [MUD-Dev] Re: Family, was characters per account

Next by Date: RE: [MUD-Dev] Trouble Makers or Regular Citizens

Prev by thread: Re: [MUD-Dev] Simulating Ancient Greece WAS: Same-Sex Marriage

Next by thread: [MUD-Dev] Re: Family, was characters per account

Index(es):

Date

Thread

Thread context:

Gender Restrictions was Re: [MUD-Dev] Same-Sex Marriage, Jon Lambert jlsysinc#ix,netcom.com, Tue 11 Apr 2000, 05:25 GMT
Re: [MUD-Dev] Simulating Ancient Greece WAS: Same-Sex Marriage, Jon Lambert jlsysinc#ix,netcom.com, Tue 11 Apr 2000, 05:25 GMT

Re: [MUD-Dev] Simulating Ancient Greece WAS: Same-Sex Marriage, Matthew Mihaly the_logos#achaea,com, Tue 11 Apr 2000, 06:10 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: Family, was characters per account, Daniel James dan#sensei,co.uk, Mon 10 Apr 2000, 23:36 GMT

<Possible follow-up(s)>

Re: [MUD-Dev] Re: Family, was characters per account, Paul Schwanz - Enterprise Services Paul.Schwanz#east,sun.com, Tue 11 Apr 2000, 04:12 GMT

Re: [MUD-Dev] Re: Family, was characters per account, Kevin Littlejohn darius#connect,com.au, Tue 11 Apr 2000, 05:08 GMT

Re: [MUD-Dev] Re: Family, was characters per account, Matthew Mihaly the_logos#achaea,com, Tue 11 Apr 2000, 06:06 GMT

[ Other Periods | Other mailing lists | Search ]
