Well, considering that all property is is an arbitrary claim by an entity
over something else, not really. If the property that is doing the holding
can enforce, or have enforced by another party, its claim, then it can be
said to own it just as surely as anyone owns 'his' house (which, after
all, consists of nothing more than a combination of cultural acceptance of
the idea of ownership, and enforcement via the military and police.)

The gay demographic is the second wealthiest demographic in the US, after
the Jewish one (or so I've read in multiple places). That alone, and the
fact that 3% of 6 billion is a massive number, makes it worth targetting.
No mud gets any significant portion of the internet to use it, and all
target niche audiences. We target, for instance, people who have
disposeable cash, as opposed to the Quake kiddies. Small percentage of the
small mudding population. Quite lucrative. 

Never underestimate niches. Media empires get built on collections of
them.
