If you get PK'd in the ol' weekly >tabletop D&D game, then someone doesn't come back next week - either the PK >or you. Um, that depends rather strongly on the group. My AD&D group delighted in creating parties which were literally at each other's throats within the first hour of a game, and carrying grudges over from character to character. As an example, two players once brought in paladins, and I insisted on bringing in an evil wizard while another player insisted on an evil thief. As we set out toward the latest dungeon crawl, the paladins decided at our first camp to burn my spell book, so when I found them going through my pack we soon discovered that the thief had taken it. When the question of why they were looking for it came up, the whole thing turned into a massive brawl in which both paladins were killed. They "reincarnated" during the same session as a priest and a warrior, who of course just *happened* not to care much for the thief who backstabbed them, and in rather short order we were fighting amongst ourselves again. The thief was killed and returned as a ranger, who had chosen as his "racial" enemy the race represented by the priest, which of course did not bode well. In order to get an opportunity to kill the priest, he convinced the other two characters that the wizard was leading them into a trap so they would attack me. Losing the mage, cleric, and ranger during that battle, three more characters were brought in, all pre-loaded with grudges against whoever our defeaters were in the previous round -- as well as a common hatred of the warrior, who had... annoyingly enough... survived. (the nerve of some people!) This was a pretty typical evening for us. We never *did* make it to that dungeon. And amazingly enough, this completely unsuited group of players played together every week for about six years. On some occasions, we actually managed to get involved in the adventure intended by the DM. Immature? Hell yeah. But *fun*. Sort of like tabletop Quake. ;) ----- | Caliban Tiresias Darklock caliban#darklock, com | Darklock Communications http://www.darklock.com/ | U L T I M A T E U N I V E R S E I S N O T D E A D | 774577496C6C6E457645727355626D4974H -=CABAL::3146=- _______________________________________________ MUD-Dev maillist - MUD-Dev#kanga,nu http://www.kanga.nu/lists/listinfo/mud-dev

Follow-Ups:

Re: Re[2]: [MUD-Dev] The Relationship between pkers and monster AI?

From: SkeptAck#antisocial,com (Dundee)

Re: Re[2]: [MUD-Dev] The Relationship between pkers and monsterAI?

From: Asmodeus <asmodeus#benshaw,com>

Re: Re[2]: [MUD-Dev] The Relationship between pkers and monsterAI?

From: Matthew Mihaly <diablo#best,com>

References:

Re[2]: [MUD-Dev] The Relationship between pkers and monster AI?

From: Travis Casey <efindel#io,com>

Re: [MUD-Dev] The Relationship between pkers and monster AI?

From: "Jon A.
