inscription. A wrought-iron railing stands on each side of the stairs, and
a woven mat lies upon the top step.

piece of velvet. At the foot of the bed, a crocheted afghan is folded
neatly and laid across the bed.

This room is a bit darker than the foyer, for there are no windows. On
each side of the room are hooks upon which you might hang your cloak or hat.
A pair of coat stands have been placed in the far corners, and a small

of cedar reaches your nose, and you see small cachets of cedar chips hanging
from decorative hooks.

shifts.

This corridor runs north and south, the large hall opening to the south,

playing an unknown game.

The tomes which dominate this room come in every shape and size, some
bound in red leather, others covered in soft cloth. The shelves take up
every wall, and large windows are open, allowing the sounds of nature to
fill the room. The soft perfume of the lilac bushes in bloom wafts in on
the wind, and on the sill of one window a sparrow sings as if its heart is
breaking with joy and life. A rolling ladder stands against the wall, ready
to aid in reaching the highest shelf.

A small box sits upon a beautiful round table, music pouring forth from
it. Several priceless paintings grace the walls, some of desolate
landscapes, others of strange but graceful animals. There are even
paintings of the heros of the lands, present and past, and even more
miraculous, of the future. A large harp stands in the corner, and as you
pass it, a soft chord seems to be plucked upon the strings, yet no one is
near.

The corridor branches here, and as you glance from side to side, you can
see a large banquet room to the west, and a smaller dining room to the east.
A strong aroma waftes on the breeze, seeming to grow stronger to the east.
The corridor continues on, and to the north it branches again, light
streaming from both east and west.

Dining Room~

The dining room is filled with a beautiful oak table, a captain's chair
on each end, and chairs lining it on each side. A chandelier lights the
room, and a centerpiece of fresh flowers sits in the center of the table.
The table is set with an intimate setting for two, and two candles are lit,
providing very little light, but much more in ambience. The china is
delicate, and a flowery border rings each plate and dish.

Banquet Room~

A long table runs down the center of the room, with chairs lining either
side of it. There's enough seating for at least two hundred people, and a
buffet lines up against one wall. Two chandeliers hang above the table,
each supporting hundreds of candles. In intervals, along the table, set
beautiful arrangements of fresh flowers, each surrounding a candle floating
in a globe of water.

Kitchen~

This large airy kitchen seems to be a very logically and concisely laid
out room. A free standing island stands in the center, with a large sink
and cutting board upon it. Above the island hang numerous pots and pans,
utensils and storage containers, all within easy reach. An immense
woodburning stove stands against one wall, and an open fireplace offer heat
and cooking opportunities for the cook and many assistants that create the
culinary masterpieces that leave this room.

Breakfast Nook~

Set on the east side of the house, with large bay windows to catch the
morning sun, this cozy little nook contains a small table, with fresh
flowers upon it. Decorated in flowery curtains, with a matching valence
above the windows, the table linens offset the print with a pastel peach.
Already set for breakfast, the black dishes and flowery-handled flatware lay
in wait for the morning meal.

End Of The Corridor~

Here at the end of the corridor it becomes a bit brighter, and as you
glance to the east and the west, you see why. To the east is a solarium,
and to the west is an arboretum. A large portrait on the north wall shows
the heart behind the lands, a flattering rendering on canvas of Walius, the
saviour of the storm. A soft twittering comes from the arboretum, and a
soft splashing comes from both the east and the west.

Arboretum~

~
As you walk through a curious screened door, you see an enormous
profusion of plants and flowers. All types of flora abound in this room,
and a small waterfall splashes down into a small pool filled with tropical
fish. Small flitting forms dash past your eyes, and when one stops below a
hanging flower, you see that it's a hummingbird feeding upon the nectar of
the blossoms.

Solarium~

This room is encased in glass, the floor covered in sand, and with a
large pool in the center. Several lounge chairs are situated around the
pool, and a large sundial catches the sun's rays at the north side of the
room. Looking out the glass, you catch glimpses of a beautiful yard out
back, surrounded by what appears to be a rather dense forest.

Patio~

You stand upon a stained redwood patio, overlooking the large backyard.
Your entire field of view is dominated by a huge hedge maze. From hear you
can hear the sounds of a stream, and the rooftop of the gazebo can be seen
within the maze. A carriagehouse sits to the west, with a narrow path
leading towards the front of the mansion. A dog barks somewhere nearby, and
as you watch, a fat little cocker spaniel bounds into view.

On The Staircase~

The stairs are carpetted in royal blue carpetting down the center, the
beautiful hardwood remaining revealed along the sides. A well polished
railing runs along the sides, the burnished brass gleaming smartly. The
stairs are wide and deep, making them easy to climb, and not at all
unpleasant to traverse.

On The Staircase~

Upon the walls of the stairwell are portraits of special people in
Teardrop's life. Among most noteable are the large canvasses of Vampyre and
Zhyril, Kalourin and Starfire. All are framed in intricately carved frames,
and matted with shades of blue and grey. The stairs continue down, and
reach a small landing upwards.

Small Landing~

Standing upon this landing, you see a large stained glass window to the
east, and a small alcove to the west. The stairs run up and down from this
point, and a large potted plant sits near the bottom step. The stained
glass picture represents a vision of violence, the storm that ever rages
over the lands. Done in vivid blues and purples, fringed with reds and
oranges, it's an awesome rendition of nature.

Alcove Overlooking The Hall~

This cozy little alcove is fairly bright, and the railing which surrounds
it provides a vantage point over which to see the hall below. As you look
down, you see the ever changing colors upon the water of the fountain, and a
pattern in the streaked marble that wasn't apparent from below. A small
round window looks out into the back yard, and a small desk sits below it,
covered with stationery.

This room is dim, but not gloomy. A small fireplace crackles quietly,
and a box emits a beautiful classical concerto. A small desk sits to one
side, a red leather pad protecting the rich wood. A hand made cabinet rests
beside the door, various weapons resting inside. A small table sits between
two comfortable looking overstuffed chairs, and upon closer examination you
see exquisitely carved chess pieces upon the chess board. An old fashioned
telephone hangs upon the wall, and a pup snoozes before the fire.

On The Staircase~

The carpet muffles all footsteps, and the dark paneling provides a
sophisticated look to the stairwell. Each step is sturdy, and not a creak
sounds as you walk upon it. The railing continues on each side, and there
are several more paintings upon the walls, though these seem to be the work
of lesser known artists. Each was chosen by Teardrop for its beauty, not
its value.

On The Staircase~

The stairs are clean and neat, but upon one step you notice a spot that
seems to be a bit worn. It seems as if someone sits upon this step often,
and the candle on the wall above this step is melted quite low, as if
Teardrop sits here quite late in the evening, perhaps reading upon the
stairs. To prove this point, a book lies upon the stair, off to one side, a
place marked with a satin bookmark.

Upstairs Landing~

A large window over looks the side yard, and you can barely see the edge
of a gazebo towards the back of the house as you gaze out the clear panes of
glass. A hallway leads to the south, several doors on each side, and
another door is closed at the end. A small table sits under the window, a
vase of flowers and two candlesticks upon it. A small staircase continues
up, a closed door at the top.

A closed door stands on each side of the hall. The rest of the space
along the walls is taken up by a plant, evenly spaced between each door.
Hanging on the walls are strange objects, one a wooden mask with strange

graces the other wall, framed in gold.

Another set of doors stand across from eachother, both closed, and more
unusual objects decorate the walls. A large ornate sword hangs diagonally
upon the wall, and a double headed axe with feathers hanging off the handle

stands out in contrast to the violent looking decor, for it's a light pastel
blue.

Two doors face eachother across the hall, and another stands closed to
the south. A soft scent of jasmine perfumes the air, and upon the wall are

large bed that fills the room. Tastefully decorated, Teardrop's bedroom is
roomy yet cozy, a fireplace laid and ready to be lit. Three steps lead to a
slightly raised portion of the room, but it is partially concealed by a lace
curtain. A skylight above the bed is open a tiny bit, and the curtain
flutters lightly in the breeze. A dressing screen stands in one corner,
brightly painted with oriental dragons.

This room makes you feel huge, for everything has been sized down, from
the windows, which are about waist high on an adult, but just right for a

lilliputian room is neatly put away.

Small Sunroom~

Half hidden behind a white lace curtain, this small room is a perfect
place to come and just relax. A daybed made of white wrought iron, and
covered with a satin cover offers a place to sit, and the slanted ceiling is
made entirely of glass, offering an excellant exposure to the sun by day,
and a wonderous view of the stars by night. A wicker chair is the only
other seat in the room, but it's filled with stuffed animals.

Secret Passage~

This tunnel is dark and slightly damp. The walls are made of red brick,
and a torch ring of iron has been pounded into the wall, but no torch burns
at the moment. The floor is packed dirt, but is smooth, as if this tunnel
is used fairly frequently. The air is fresh, not musty, which lends further
belief to the fact that it is well travelled.

This tunnel continues on, each brick weathered yet sturdy. The hard
packed floor is swept clean, and very smooth, and you hear no squeaks or
skittering sounds to indicate mice or other varmints. A very dark place,
the air is cool, but not cold. The fresh air blows past your face and
around your ankles, and a torch, stuck in an iron torch ring flickers.

Front Lawn~

Surrounded by a high lilac hedge and carpeted with immaculately cared for
grass, this part of the front yard is well shaded by the immense old trees
that dot the lawn. From a low branch of one ancient tree is an old tire
swing, swaying gently in the breeze, and a ladder, nailed to the trunk,
leads up into the lofty heights of the old giant. Barely visible through
the foliage is the underside of what appears to be a rather large treehouse.

Front Lawn~

Softly muted sounds filter in from the street, but because of the lilac
hedge that protects the privacy of guests and owner alike, the outside world
seems miles away. A squirrel sits at the foot of one of the many trees, and
eyes you curriously, and a fat robin hops across the grass, stopping to cock
its head as it searches for its meal. You faintly hear the cheeps of her
tiny family, and as she pecks the ground and darts away, a butterfly flits
down to rest on your shoulder, then flutters off again.

Servant's Quarters.~

This room may be just a room for the servants, but even though it's
located in the attic, it's clean and comfortable. Several partitions
section off the room, each containing a bed and small dresser. The dormer
windows are open, and a cool breeze brings relief to a sometimes warm and
stuffy room. A woven rug covers the floor, and a few chairs are scattered
around a table that has been provided for general use.
