Grumkull~
Grumkull snarls at you, enraged.
~
A short, though well-muscled goblin, Grumkull glares at you furiously.
He is garbed in tattered finery, most likely captured from some poor
traveller. His gut protrudes out at you, and his oily hair falls in front
of glowing red eyes which glare from above a mouth filled with pointed
teeth. A cowardly, though crafty leader, he rose to the position of chief
not by force of arms but by murdering his rivals in their sleep. At his
side is a delicately-crafted short sword, the hilt of which he toys with
relentlessly. His temper is rotten, his stench pungent, and his tremendous
greed is surpassed only by his manic paranoia. Any misstep by his
underlings he considers treachery, and the punishment is invariably death.

Before the Fortress~
~
~
You stand in a small clearing cut against the side of a large hill.
Before you is a small stone fortress, it's stones chipped and worn
away with age. A rotted wooden drawbridge stretches over an empty
moat, giving you access to a large, rusty gate. To the south an
overgrown path cuts through the thick underbrush, while to the east
and west the vegetation is too thick to pass. You think you can hear
voices coming from the fortress.

You are standing in what was once the great hall of the fortress, but now
serves as the throne room for the gruesome chief of the goblin bandits; the
feared Grumkull Bonebreaker. The room is a mess, filled with the splintered
remains of furniture, puddles of foul goblin ale, and the ill stench of

once used by the lord of the fortress now serves as Grumkull's throne, where

The balcony~
~
~
You stand on a large stone balcony, overlooking the fortress; To the
south are large stone crenellations, beyond which you can make out the
terrain. Thick brush almost completely covers an abandoned road that runs
south from the fortress. You think you can make out the city of Methidoral
in the distance.

A storage room~
~
~
This small room is being used to store all manner of junk. The broken
remains of wooden boxes are scattered on the floor, and piles of crude
goblin clothing litter the room.

The balcony~
~
~
This large stone balcony protrudes from the top of the fortress.
Protected by crenellations, it gives a bird's eye view of the surrounding
countryside. Several wineskins are scattered here, and a sleeping pallet is
pulled against the wall.

An abandoned road~
~
~
This abandoned road runs north and south through the countryside. On
both sides of you are large thickets, far too thick to enter. The road is
potted and scarred, and looks like it hasn't been used in years. To the
north the road crumbles, becoming instead an overgrown path.

An abandoned road~
~

You are walking along an ill-kept road that stretches north and south
between large thickets. Weeds grow from between cracks in the road, and
constant weathering has made the cobblestones smooth.

time, but now it is pitted and gutted. On either side of you is thick
brush, far too dense to enter.
