The residents of this city, both male and female, are heavily muscled and well-clad against the elements with heavy furs and solid winter boots. Most seem to carry at least a light weapon, as well. Nyrmaal, the trainer, really knows how to provide a workout. The thoroughness of her teaching pays off, however. At least it seems that way by the looks of these barbarians. The heat generated by the warm bodies makes this room one of the most pleasent in Hammerheim. The smell of the people working out isn't so pleasant, however. ~ 0 2491400 0 Rd 0 D4 ~ ~ 0 0 10211 S #10214 The Hall of Studies~ ~ ~ Leather bound books written in the tongue of the barbarian lands line the bookcases of this room. A rug on the floor and a fire in the hearth makes this room very cozy by barbarian standards. This hall of studies contains the heart of the barbarian wisdom and knowledge, which is surprisingly immense. Although it is difficult to obtain an audience with this man, it is often very important. A cold north wind whips down the alley, swirling snow around your feet. More mountains can be seen beyond the city walls, their snow-capped peaks glistening in the sun. The lack of guards for the gate is noticeable and puzzling, however. The city walls appear to be impenetrable, and the gate has a very large keyhole in it. Not many people enter from the north, because not many people live to tell about the giants which dwell in the mountains to the north. Just now, you notice that you are not alone here. You still see the occasional barbarian, but there are not nearly as many of them as in the other parts of the city. Twisted and gnarled strees stand sentinel around it, and weird, flickering lights come from inside. The door is locked, and there doesn't seem to be a key anywhere around. Perhaps there is another way in. The shaman, whom you have disturbed in a secret ritual is not very happy to see you. A quick survey of the room reveals all matter of arcane items. Candles are arranged in the shape of a pentagram, and runes have been drawn from fresh blood. It is a most impressive building, and by the looks of it, is the most expensive building in all of Hammerheim. Religion must play an important role in these people's lives. Screams of agony can be heard coming from afar...
