Aurealan Realms Policies / Player Conduct & Rules

We offer AR as a place where you can come and have some fun, maybe
role-play a bit, and just do what MUDders do, but we are not
obligated in ANY way to continue this service.
These are the policies by which you MUST abide on AR. Violators of these
rules are subject to any type of punishment the immortal staff deems fit.
1: %b%3The Golden Rule: Respect others players.%0

Respecting other players includes (but is NOT limited to):
- Harassing or Abusing other players.
- Deliberately and/or cruelly insulting other players based on their
age, sex, religion, race or sexual orientation.
- Tell-bombing or mail-bombing another player or immortal.
- Spamming on (ooc) or any other public channel.
- Stealing kills from another player.
- Aiding a monster in killing another player in any way.
- Casting spells upon a monster to make it harder for a player to kill.
- Recalling, summoning or badgering someone out of a zone or area.
2: %b%6The Silver Rule: Respect the Immortals.%0

Immortals are the ones who WORK so you can play. They work very hard,
and should be given the respect that is their due.
- Immortals here will not give you equipment.
- They will not stat mobs or items for your benefit.
- They will not give info on where equipment loads or how to reach it.
- They will not cast spells upon you, save for specific quest prizes.
- They will not tank for you.
- They will not retrieve your corpse, unless you are a true newbie, and
then it is up to the individual immort.
Immortals WILL, however, provide any general information as appropriate.
They will assist and aid as they can. Please do not ask any immortal to do
something which is not legal here.
3: %b%4Clans and Clan Headquarters.%0

Clans are individually run by their respective leaders, and they can / will
make their own policies that they can and will enforce in addition to the
policies listed here. All clan objects (clankeys, transport objects, etc)
are the SOLE posession of the members of the clan, and anyone posessing
and/or using objects belonging to a clan they are not a member of face
whatever type of punishment is warranted. Additionally, clan hq's and clan
donation rooms (and all items therein) are the sole posession of the clan,
and trespassing or stealing from clan hq you are not a member of is also
punishable.
4: %b%4Assassins and Player Killing.%0

No pkilling, pstealing or corpse looting is allowed, unless you AND the
other person have the assassin flag. (see HELP ASSASSIN for full info)
A non-Assassin flagged character may NOT aid an Assassin during combat.
If found out, the character will be Assassin-flagged and possibly demoted
several levels to make him/her easier prey.
5: %b%4Multi-Playing.%0

Multiplaying is allowed, BUT only TWO! (2) characters per person (account)
are allowed at one time. This includes idle and linkdead characters. You
_may_ be frozen, deleted and/or banned if you are caught, so don't do it.
Multies are NOT allowed in the ARENA.
6: %b%4Character Names.%0
----------------
Use of character names like "Robocop" or names with vulgarity will
NOT be tolerated. Names should suit our medieval non-earth world.
Immortals may request name changes for names considered inappropriate
at any time.
7: %b%4Equipment Per Character.%0
------------------------
There is a 50 item limit on equipment. If you exceed 50 items, you may
lose equipment. No reimbursements will be done for people who have
exceeded the 50 item limit.
8: %b%4Eq Hoarding.%0
------------
Some objects are only allowed to load at any one time, so no more
than 5 of any non-consumable item is allowed in any on-line storage
facility (house, clan-donation rooms, etc.)
9: %b%4Beta Testing Information.%0

AR is in Beta Testing, and as a result, is sometimes buggy. If you
discover a bug that effectively gives you an advantage over the game or
over other characters, report it to us. Exploiting a known bug is
deliberate cheating, and can result in freezing, deletion, and banning.
All bugs should be reported via the "bug" command, the more important
ones should be immediately reported to any immortal online. If you
deliberately cause crashes, especially in order to duplicate items, or
provide information to other players on how to cause crashes, you may be
frozen, deleted or banned.
10: %b%4Character Idle-Deletion.%0

If you are away from the mud over 30 days, you may lose all your equipment
and possibly your character. To avoid this, make sure you play your
character on a regular basis (or at least check in once a month).
11: %b%1The Aurealan Realms OFFICIAL REIMBURSEMENT POLICY.%0

If your character dies in a recoverable location, ie: a recoverable
DT, and the mud crashes immediately after, preventing player corpse
recovery, It may be possible to reimburse all or most of the character's
equipment. The reimbursment is based upon our reimbursement files only.
No reimbursments will be done for individual items.
There will be no reimbursement for equipment loss not related to the mud,
for example: server problems, line noise, link problems, net lag, or poor
typing skills, to name a few.
Although player houses act as a storage area for equipment, they have no
reimbursement files for them and by no means are to be considered a safe
haven for your most valuable equipment. No house reimbursements will
be given.
Once a SPIRIT+ level immortal has ruled on a situation, there should not
be a furthur discussion on the subject. Descisions are final.
12: %b%4Role-Playing on Aurealan Realms.%0

We encourage, though we do not enforce, role-playing. If you decide not
to role-play, please do not hinder anyone who IS role-playing.
13: %b%4Regarding Other Muds.%0

Posting or gossiping the names and addresses of other muds is frowned
upon, because we don't do that on other muds. We offer every mud out
there on the net great respect, because we know how hard it is to maintain
a good mud, but we ask that nobody advertise here.
14: %b%4Public Language And Behavior.%0

Swearing over public channels is forbidden. Public channels include
(but are not necessarily limited to): Gossip (ooc), IC, shout and
holler. Discussion of drugs, in any way, shape or form, is prohibited
on any of the Aurealm Realms public channels.
15: %b%4Appropriate Use Of Mud Facilities.%0

Use of 'emote' to bypass the language system here on AR is strictly
prohibited. Languages are in for a reason, and we ask that if you
only wish to speak one language, speak common.
The use of 'bots' (automated characters, unmanned and running on a
script) are prohibited, as are money and/or equipment hoarding routines.

Policies are subject to change without notice. Make sure you stay
informed of any changes by reading the update board at your nearest
gateway. Ignorance of the rules is NO excuse.
