A saving throw is a special roll made when you are being attacked by
something out of the ordinary. When making a saving throw the lower the
number you need to roll the better. If you make a saving throw the affects
of the spell will be diminished or halted. There are 5 different kinds
defined .

%3(1)%0 save vs paralysis: Includes spells like stun, or web.

%3(2)%0 save vs. rods, staves and wands (listed as rods): The rods can vary,
some stun, some    do direct damage. The damage is usually halved by the
saving throw, affects are ignored

%3(3)%0 save vs petrifaction: To be petrified is being turned to stone, this
throw may save you from this awful fate.

%3(4)%0 save vs breath attack: Breath attacks are like direct damage, if you
make the save vs breath you take half damage

%3(5)%0 save vs spell: Only affected by spells that do damage. If you make the
saving throw damage is halved, generally some spells might have a better
saving throw afforded.
