A very large forest which lies directly between Mesraht and Sylvandell
to the north and Alanholt Keep and Nirenoft to the south is split into
two parts, called Light Derkwood and Dark Derkwood. The entire wood
makes up a large portion of the Duchy of Norway, located on the
southern-most edge of the northern continent.
Light Derkwood, the western portion of the forest, is thickly grown,
with the Northern Highway boring straight through it, connecting Alanholt
Keep to Mesraht. Along this thoroughfare can be found the Way Station,
an inn and tavern for weary travellers.
Dark DerkWood, the eastern half, is bisected by the Duke's Highway,
which runs through Nirenoft and up to Sylvandell. The Silver Oaks Grove,
the University of Thamaturgical Arts, and the Skyship Icarus can be found
along the Duke's Highway.
Rumours have long been told of a long-forgotten graveyard where the dead
do not seem to lie quite restfully which can be found somewhere within
the depths of that dark forest. As of yet, however, none have discovered
this place.

<Light DerkWood was built in the fall of '96 by Cyng Swiftwind, and is
intended for low-level players. The graveyard of Dark DerkWood is a
forthcoming Lord-level area by Cyng.>
