Alanholt Keep, built over two centuries ago by Alan Perkins, stands
upon the southern coastline of the northern continent. It sits atop the 
high cliffs overlooking the Southern Ocean, solid and steadfast, while,
far below it, the sea churns and crashes against the tableland.
Alanholt Keep is the center of power of the Duchy of Norway, the
small area south of Mesraht, which encompasses all of Derkwood, the
town of Nirenoft, the plains between the 'Wood and the Ocean, and
areas east and west of the Keep itself. Duke Thomas Perkins rules the
duchy with a kind hand.

intended for low-to-midlevel players, and was the MUD's first entirely
unique zone.>
