OLC_BUILDING -=information=- -=see also: IMMORTAL FLAGS ZONES OLHC=- OLC stands for 'OnLine Creation.' When an immortal is 'in OLC,' it means that the immortal is buiding. It is not wise to bother immortals when they are in the middle of building, as it takes concentration and time. RoA has its own OLC process, called RoAOLC, currently version 2.2. Through this, we build new zones for you folks to explore. Each new zone is care- fully thought out and has its own atmosphere and stories. To build for RoA, one must submit an application. This application must contain 3 sample room descriptions (each with a minimum of 4 lines), 3 sample mob descriptions (each with a minimum of 3 lines), and 3 sample objects descriptions (each with a minimum of 3 lines). These must be emailed to our AIMP of Building, Mouseglove (jeffs<at>adrian.adrian.edu). Acceptance as a builder will be given only to those with decent grammar and spelling abilities, as well as exceptional descriptive talents. One will be valued upon one's abilities as a writer, one's personality, how one is perceived as a person and a player by the immortal staff, and the ability to work with Team Aurealis. Writing talent alone won't do. Note: Although you may be a brilliant writer and have an incredible talent for building on MUDs, talent is not the entire formula for success here. Good interpersonal skills are a MUST and an overall good impression on Team Aurealis is a plus. We are very concerned with the ability of our builders here and you can be assured that if someone has earned the right to build on RoA, they must be damn good. Note2: :) OLC has contributed greatly to the expansion of RoA. The base version of RoA OLC was ported over from Realms of Imagination (RoI). Thanx to Sheol and Rack (big guys over there at the time) for giving me a chance at that thin OLC shell, thanx to the original authors of OLC, Anton and his crew (who knows where he went..), and thanx to the building staff here for continually suggesting improvements to that OLC shell. RoA OLC is a huge extension, expansion, and improvement over the original OLC shell. -Vall
