The walls are panelled with stained oak; engaged columns made of similar oak and inlaid with mahogany and ebony are spaced regularly around the walls. Centered between the columns are pieces of artwork by Escher, a brass plaque with a short inscription, and a window that faces west. Outside that window is a boiling gray cloud of indefinite composition, a view of unsolidified reality. A semicircular desk made of one solid piece of mahogany stands before the window. A throne-like leather chair and two smaller visitors' chairs are arranged around the desk. A wide niche in the wall contains a spiral staircase that leads to other parts of the estate.
