You move around by typing the complete direction you want. You can abbreviate the direction though: When you want to go south, just type 's', 'so', 'sou', 'sout' or 'south'. Most of the time you want to use the shortest possible command (just 's'). This rule of abbreviation is valid for ALL commands on the MUD. One thing you have to keep in mind, is that a certain abbreviation might mean something different as you think it means. Because of this, you might want to use the normal, long commands for commands, other than the movement commands. At least until you're a little more experienced... ^ EndLocation = "NextStep" Location = "Players" North = NextStep@intro South = Communication@intro LFlags = Private, NoQuit Title = "Other players" Desc = ^ You are not the only player on this MUD. Only the player you specify will hear you message, wherever he is. - You can type 'chat <msg>'. This will be heard by everybody in the MUD except the ones that have turned off this feature (by typing 'nochat'). - You can also type 'shout <msg>'. This does exactly the same as CHAT, but it is considered a bad habbit if you do this too often. Don't SHOUT unless you think it's absolutely necassary. ^ EndLocation = "Communication" Location = "Objects" North = Communication@intro East = Points@intro LFlags = Private Title = "&+WObjects&*" Desc = ^ Everywhere in the mud there are objects. They all have a different use. Some objects are just for decoration, some are weapons, some are food, etc. Where there is an object in a room there will be some clue for you to know that there is an object and how that object is called. Very often this clue is something like: 'A lunch is lying here' or something like that. In this room there is a knife, just as the bottom-line of this description says. You can get an object by typing 'get <object name>' or 'take <object name>'. To get all the objects in the room (which you CAN get, not all objects are 'getable') you can type 'get all' or 'take all'. You can also examine objects by typing 'examine <object>'. Now try to examine and take the knife. ^ EndLocation = "Objects" Location = "Points" South = Combat@intro West = Objects@intro LFlags = Private, NoQuit Title = "Gathering Points" Desc = ^ There are two ways to gather the points you need to become a Wizard. The first is to kill so called 'mobiles'. Mobiles are persons, monsters, dwarfs, giants etc. that walk around in the MUD. Everything you need to know about combat will be explained later. The second way the gather points is to drop objects in a 'pit'. Each object has a value. This value can be viewed by typing 'value all'. When you drop an object in a pit, you get the value of the object added to your score. There are two pitholes in the MUD. One is in the Village Church and the otherone is in the Temple of Paradise. Each time you enter the game, you start in one of these rooms. ^ EndLocation = "Points" Location = "Combat" North = Points@intro East = GetHelp@intro LFlags = Private, NoQuit Title = "Combat" Desc = ^ The fastest way to gain points is to kill mobiles. When you hit a mobile you get points, but when a mobile hits you, you loose strength. When your strength reaches 0 you die and become a ghost (type 'info ghosts' to get more info on that). At that time you loose approx. half your score! If you're not fighting, you can regain your strength by typing 'sit'. This will not go very fast, so take your time. When you are fully healed you will receive a message. If you're fighting a mobile, and it looks like you're gonna loose, you can type 'flee <dir>', where <dir> is a valid direction in the room where you are at the moment of fleeing. You will then abort the fight and loose a small percentage of your score (3%). That's always better than dying (and loose half your score). In this room there's one mobile called The Monster. Maybe you can examine him for a start... ^ EndLocation = "Combat" Location = "GetHelp" West = Combat@intro South = EndTour@intro LFlags = Private, NoQuit Title = "How to get help" Desc = ^ When you need help, there are a number of ways to get it. First, you can ask a Wizard, ArchWizard, High-Demigod, God or Master (if one is available). They are here to help you. If none is available at the moment you need help, you can ask another player on the MUD. Most people will help you if they can, although some might not want to be disturbed. You can also type 'help' or 'info'. Both will give you a listing of main subjects available. Type 'help <subject>' or 'info <subject>' to get help on that subject. ^ EndLocation = "GetHelp" Location = "EndTour" North = GetHelp@intro East = temple@start West = church@start LFlags = NoQuit Title = "The End of the Tour" Desc = ^ This is the end of the tour. We wish you good luck in the game. You should read the 'info policy' to know what you shouldn't do (e.g. killing other players). Again, if you need any help, just ask for it. To get out of the tour, you must drop all your stuff. This will sacrifice it to the gods, for a small reward. ^ EndLocation = "EndTour"
