Gate of the Vale Stronghold~
You find yourself standing before a magnificant wall. As you examine the
gate before you, you notice a great symbol etched on it. You recognize the
symbol as one that wards off evil spirits from entering beyond it. Your
studious gaze continues upward until it rests on the guards that are
standing above the gate eyeing you carefully. You must remember to behave
yourself while in the confines of this village.

A Small Path~
The path is well packed and easy to travel; it has obviously seen much
travel over the years. The forest around you is totally black and quite
spooky looking. You hear howls echoing through the trees and are very happy
that there is a natural barrier of trees between you and whatever is making
that noise.

A Small Path~
You are walking along a small trail through the dense forest. The trail
is packed hard beneath your feet and kept fairly clear of rubble. You can
hear the wildlife in the forest that lines both sides of the path, but find
it impossible to squeeze through the trees to enter the forest. Not that
you would want to enter the utter blackness around you.

The path now takes a sharp turn to the east. You notice that you are
amongst a great number of trees growing in the area. You wonder how they
were able to build this village without sacrificing a great number of trees.
It is a joy to be able to see so many trees in a village like this. The
shade on a hot day must be fabulous.

As you look over the side of the tower, you realize that the guards
positioned here have a good view of anyone who walks down the path or
through the forest if they even dared to try it. The guards also have a
good view of the village and the surrounding area. It would be very easy
for the guards to sound the alarm and have the rest of the village prepared
for any type of danger. By the looks of the arsenal here, the guards would
be able to handle almost anything that tried to gain entry.
