Behind the Crystalline Pillars~
Here a great flat underground plain spreads to the southwest.  Chill

winds blow though the area like a hurricane.  To the north, great pillars

of ice block the entrance into a small tunnel.  They are so thick and

massive that even a red dragon's breath would be challenged to melt a

passage through them.  The wind carries with it bits of ice and snow,

whipping all about into a swirling mist which cloaks the true size and

nature of the cavern.

Frigid monoliths extend up into the high reaches of this cavern; the

ceiling is obscured by white mist.  Several high shelves of ice mark the

eastern boundary of the cavern, some of them stacked in canopy

formations above each other.  The rest of the white snow-encrusted tundra

lies to your north, south and west.

Great Snowy Plain - White Darkness~
This great white plain is covered with over two feet of hard-packed snow,

which seems to head in almost every direction.  Several iced-over

boulders sit in a corner to your north, near a sheer wall of pure ice. 

The plain continues to the east and west, and to the south a small

rivulet of ice crosses into white darkness.

Great Snowy Plain - Sheer Wall of Ice~
Cold breezes seem relentless as you travel farther into the heart of this

cavern.  A few icy stalagmites here offer a little protection from the

freezing winds.  They are covered with flaky white snow that is adamant

to inch its way into any type of clothing.  A sheer wall of ice blocks

off any movement east, and a small snow-covered stream lies to your south.

Great Snowy Plain - Ice Rivulet~
Hard-packed snow here is covered by a smaller layer of icy flakes.  To

the east a wall of ice can be faintly descried; the abundance of ice

obscures vision in all directions.  West, the hard snow sinks down a few

feet, and the curvature of it indicates a lake, probably solid from years

of freezing temperatures.  Similarly a small icy rivulet running into the

lake can be made out to the south, across which large frosty shapes loom.

Great Snowy Plain - Near a Small Hollow Beneath an Ice Shelf~
Winds rip through this edge of the cavern.  Great snow drifts pile up to

ten feet in some areas, fortunately most on the face of the western wall. 

A large shelf of ice lies above you on the northwest wall, its

icicle-edged rim unclimbable.  A small hollow from the shelf allows a

small place to rest away from the fierce winds.

Great Snowy Plain - Within the Ice Shelf~
Swirling snow frosts over this portion of the cavern.  Shelves of ice

line the western walls, but jutting out in a tidal-wave formation, they

are impossible to climb, and such an effort would surely hurt the

climber; icicles loose from the wind shake about from the fringes of the

shelves, some as large as a horse's leg.  However, the shelves do offer a

convenient way to avoid the vortex of snowy air that collects itself in

huge drifts around the ledges.

These shelves of ice saturate the western walls.  They are stratified,

and appear to be stable, although several are thoroughly engorged with

snow.  A medium-sized shelf rests on the cavern floor, and its icicles

hang down, serving as a barrier against the harsh winds.

Clouds of snow fly about here.  The cruel wind has no mercy, and you

suddenly notice that a large boulder of ice nearby is really the head of

a young red dragon, almost completely preserved in the snow, but long

dead from the looks of it.  To the south a curving hollow of snow marks a

white lake, likely frozen over from years of extreme cold.

About six inches of snow cover the lake, and the wind makes its presence

On A Lake of Ice and Frost~
The lake is solid ice, not making a single noise as you walk.  Blistering

winds fly about, making visibility and footing difficult, but no snow

drifts form on the surface, remarkable because of the lake's elevation. 

A small stream of ice forms on the southwest end of this part of the

lake, from which a small frost-covered bridge of ice can be seen

extending across it.  The rest of the lake lies to the south and east.

Great Snowy Plain - On a Frost-Covered Bridge~
A large shelf on the western wall makes travelling through this part of

the cavern much easier.  The wind here has died down, as large icicles

here serve as a barrier.  To your east a lake of ice stretches in the

distance, marked faintly by a sunken edge curving around.  An odd

formation of ice acts as a bridge over a frozen stream that runs from the

lake.  A small orange glow comes from the south, very faint but reflected

off of a few stalagmites to your southeast, on the border of the lake.

The lake's surface is quite solid, but the wind here is almost unbearable. 

A frosty whirlwind roars around the lake, throwing about the little snow

enveloping its surface; slick ice threatens footing.  To the south a

large tunnel can be made out, glowing a pale-blue, although the source of

the light is not visible.  The rest of the lake continues to the east and

north.

Great Snowy Plain - Before a Tunnel~
The wind in this part of the cavern seems to have stopped altogether.  An

orange glow eminates from the west, and a pure crystal tunnel reflects it

as it curves into the unknown source of light.  There appear to be

markings on the entrance to the tunnel, but they are very faint and hard

to make out.  To your east a lake of ice is evident from a five foot drop

of snow that sinks in, dipping icicles onto its surface.  A small

frost-covered bridge to your north forms across a frozen stream that runs

from the lake.

It is particularly hard to move in this area of the cavern.  Large gusts

of wind have drifted several feet of snow onto the plain, and the

less-packed snow blocks several more favorable passageways.  A sheer face

of ice lies to your south, bordering the cavern, and appears unclimable. 

To your north a frost-covered lake appears sunken into the landscape,

probably frozen solid from years of freezing temperatures.  A pale-blue

light seems to be coming from the west, although very faintly, and is

partially obscured by the white snow.

Great Snowy Plain - Before a Tunnel~
The wind in this part of the cavern seems to have picked up quite a bit. 

A torrent of cold air whips about, swirling snow and ice and mist

together in a hurricane of frigidity.  A large tunnel leads south,

curving into an unknown area, and a pale-blue light seems to be eminating

from it, reflecting off of the flaky-white tunnel wall.  A few tiny

markings appear on the entrance of the tunnel, but they are unreadable. 

To the north a frozen lake looms, wind whipping fiercely over the surface

of it.

A faint blue light seems to be pulsing from that direction, and you can

almost feel magical energies at work.  Gales are whirling from within the

tunnel's direction, and frost clings to your face.

Great Snowy Plain - The Cavern's Edge~
The southwest edge of the cavern is covered with snowdrifts, ranging from

one to fifteen feet deep.  Several shelves jut out from the edges of the

solid cliff of ice that borders the tundra-like cavern, and several large

stalagmites rise up out of the ground here, a peaking mountain range of

ice.  To the northeast a great lake of ice lies, barely bounded here by

sunken snow that seems to coalesce with the lake's edge.  An orange glow

seems to be coming from the north, although very faint.  Another

similarly eerie light glows from the east, a pale blue almost entirely

absorbed by the white of the snow.

Throne of the Ice Lord~
A large dais of solid transparent crystal ice lies in the center of this

cavern.  Over twenty-five feet in height, a massive throne sits atop the

dais.  Four huge transparent columns of solid ice lie around the dais,

stretching to the mist above.  A perfectly spiked white icicle rises up

from the center of a great seal that rests before the dais, and atop it a

@b@RR@b@Ye@b@Rd@b@Y-@b@Ro@b@Yr@b@Ra@b@Yn@b@Rg@b@Ye@n crystal radiates

light.  A tunnel east leads out of this throneroom.

Throne of the Ice Priestess~
A large dais of solid white ice lies in the center of this cavern.  Over

twenty feet tall, a great throne atop the dais looks big enough for

several trolls to fit comfortably in it.  Four massive white columns of

ice lie around the throne, over ten feet in diameter and stretching to

the misty ceiling above.  A perfectly spiked transparent icicle rises up

from the center of a circular seal, and balanced atop the icicle is a

pure @b@Cblue crystal@n of striking perfection, which radiates a pale-blue

light.  A tunnel north leads out of the cavernous throneroom.

Within a Firey Canyon~
Jet black rock shoots up from this narrow cleft in the earth.  Sheer

cliffs surround you to the east and west, and a hot river of lava lies to

the south, flowing in your direction, but passing underground just a few

yards away.  The ground is barren and hot, and volcanic gases make it

difficult to breathe.  Northwards, a small cave can be descried, and

flames seem to flicker from it.  There appear to be no other exits from

the narrow canyon.

The Home of Norzan the Black~
A perfect circle has been hewn into the middle of this cavernous abode,

and flames spout from it, licking the top of the room's walls. 

Surprisingly it is much cooler than it would appear, and there seems to

be little volcanic gas or heat coming from center of the room.  Black

walls frame the sides of the room, shining dully from the continuous

burst of fire.  The cavern is relatively bare, but it feels evil here,

and as you look behind you you notice that you cast no shadow on the

ground despite the flames.
