Entrance to the Catacombs~
A wide vaulted tunnel, its walls lined with large white marble slabs shot

through with silvery veins forms the entrance to the catacombs.  Iron

sconces, meant to hold torches to light the way, now show signs of rust

and long disuse.  The sconces line the tunnel walls right up to where the

marble slabs end and rough stone begins to the north.  An ornately

engraved arch marks the base of a set of marble stairs that lead upwards

to the crypts.

Small Chamber at the Juncture of Three Tunnels~
This chamber seems focused on one thing; displaying the flowing script

chiselled into northern wall.  The northern wall has been carefully

smoothed to display the script to its fullest yet all the rest of the

walls are rough-hewn out of the natural stone.  Three tunnels lead away

deeper into the darkness of the catacombs.

The natural stone walls have been carefully cut into the semblance of an

angled hallway.  Four nitches, two in the southern wall and two in the

eastern, form the final resting place for remains so old that only

fragmented cloth and bone remain.  In the corner formed where the walls

meet between the nitches a single sconce has been adhered to the wall to

hold a torch to light the way for those who have to work here.
