You can travel between two portals instantly for the cost of one magic stone.  
Any people who are directly following you are also transported to the other 
end, as well as whomever you're riding.  Because the portal is really just six 
poles and a circle of stones, you may ride into it. 
 
Portals may be used by anyone if they are set UNCLAIMABLE, as with the 
immortal command.  In that state, they may not be claimed and may be used for 
purposes such as trade, when it's easier to have someone portal to you.

WARNING: The exit to a wall is in the last direction you moved before completing the wall.
It *IS* possible to get stuck in your walls when building them. If so, you will have to
wait for a staff member of a high enough level to transfer you off your wall. This tends
to wear down their patience quickly if you do it more than once. 

It is a good idea to start building all your walls, then get behind them, and enter them
