Before the city of Velnar~
You stand before the city of Velnar, a fortified city, with impressive
walls.  Along the walls walk many trained warriors, all carrying the
trademark bows of the Velnarians, for whilst the Velnars do not ride Tarns,
they are ready and able to do battle with them.  The gates are closed before
you, but when the guards see that you are not a Tarshite, they let you in

The City Square~
The city of Velnar is at war with Tarsh, and has been for hundreds of
years.  Whilst it is a smaller city than tarsh, it is built purely for war,
and is little more than a heavily fortified fortress, despite the numbers of
people who live here.  Every house is built with a defensive purpose.  Some
support the outer walls, some support the second great wall beyond the outer
walls.  None of the streets are straight, but rather they are zig zagged, to
provide ample opportunities to ambush an invader.  The roofs of the houses
are flat, yet with small walls around them, like miniature battlements, so
that archers can hide and rain arrows down upon an invader.  This whole town
is a death trap for any would be invaders.

Within Velnar~
Within the housing districts, you very quickly become lost, but a local
quickly guides you back to the central square.  You notice that everyone
within the city carries a strange looking bow, and some arrows.  Everyone
here is prepared for an attack.

Before the Second wall~
The Inner wall of Velnar is, if possible, even more impressive than the
first, being over 10 metres thick, and close to 30 metres high.  Many
warrions man the battlements, keeping watch over the outer city.  Within the
inner wall, through the gates, is a large castle, the very centre of Velnar

Before the Castle~
Inside the inner wall, you very quickly realise that this is where all
the soldiers live, and train, for you are surrounded by barracks and
training grounds, as well as the impressive building that is the castle
Velnar.

The Barracks grounds~
This vast area holds close to 15 barracks buildings, each capable of
holding two thousand soldiers.  The soldiers of Velnar are well trained, and
ready to fight of any attack, either ground or aerial.

The Archery grounds~
A large open space soon reveals itself as the archery training grounds
for the soldiers and citizens of Velnar, for all who live within Velnars
walls are expected to train with the bow.

Within the Castle~
Like the rest of Velnar, the castle is built to be a death trap for an
invader.  With lots of twisting corridors, secret passages and traps to kill
the unwary invader.  It seems almost as if no-one actually lives here, until
you finally stumble through the maze of corridors and traps to a large
central chamber, where the lord of Velnar and his generals meet.

The Central Chamber~
This stone chamber is the meeting place of the Lord of Velnar, and his
generals.  Beyond the twisting corridors, this keep holds little else, just
this room, and a single bedroom above, for the lord and his lady.

The Lords Chambers~
This lush chamber is the bedroom of the Lord of Velnar, and his lady. 
This is where he rests when he doesn't meet in council with his generals, or
wander the grounds of his great city.
