Yeah, I don't know much about SMAUG. When I first got into running MUDs I tried it and didn't like it, so I stuck with QuickMUD and learned to code from poking that with a stick repeatedly.
You can really code that way? poke it with a stick? *chuckle*
Well, actually, in smaug, for what we've got in mind, it's really probably just going to be a matter of establishing the for loop with a case switch for item type and then setting v0, v1, v2, & v3 (accordingly) on each item to their prototype/index values.
Ok from the sound of that you know how to do it then?
I think I might, but I can't post and code at the same time. *shrug*
Ah. Mine doesn't have a concrete theme yet. I only just started this particular project. If anyone has any ideas for me, please do spam them to my email or AIM.
There is. It's just kinda hidden :P. If you look at the top navbar where it has 'Members Search Help Control Panel Messenger" the search there is for only the forums. It's a part of QSF that we haven't hacked up yet. Just give us time. Give us time *steeple*
You not the only one then, causeI did not know that that was what that search was for… I kindof thought it was to search through the members, but have not really looked closely at it yet…
Oh, some of them are actually really cute, but the standard ones, like wink, lol, & smile (as examples) are not exactly clear in what they're supposed to be representing.. it's almost easier to get the point across with ;) than it is with
Not sure if this has been suggested but, maybe a link or a list containing all of their recent contributions (codebases, snippets, etc.) could be added their profile information.
I think that was suggested actually, though perhaps not in the same words, and I still think it's a great idea, though I'd be cool with just the numbers themselves being in the profile because you can already always just search the forums or the repository by thier username.
