if your interested let me know

you can apply online at teh websites forums ( brand new i jstu put it all together )

Guess not, might be worth a try on some anime specific sites where there are already people interested in the genera but might not have yet experienced muds.

It's hard to find staff, much less good staff. Most people have their own projects, or have limited time and so don't necessarily want to work on anything except stuff very near to their heart in their spare time.

Another factor to consider here is that you've waited four days before assuming that you've found a dead end. I fully realize that by the fourth day it feels like an eternity waiting for a response, but there may very well be some folks who only hit the site weekly (or monthly even). An additional factor is that while the codebase you're seeking builders for isn't even a little obscure, it's a fair minority for the codebases represented by the members here which means those who'd be able/willing to help out are a minority here as well, and then you add to that what David said… well, let's just say that posting here was a bit of a long shot and then only giving it four days to pan out may be sort of pushing your luck.

I wish you good luck with this, but you and I have already discussed this and you already know I don't know (or really want to know) Circle and don't have the time anyway, even aside from my personal lack of interest in anime in general. As we discussed previously, should I run across any decent builders who do want to learn Circle, especially should they express interest in anime, I'll happily direct them to you.

You might ask at The Builder Academy, it's Circle-based.

Oh, I don't know, many of the people there are down right snobby and hard to deal with. Oh wait…

Actually on a related note, there has been talk of Suntzu and Buddha development being dropped and CWG only continuing the development of Rasputin. The features in Suntzu will be turned into tbaMUD compatible patches if this does actually happen. Just something to think about for anyone creating a new mud based on Suntzu or Buddha.

Me personally? If I were looking for a MUD to build on and if I were interested in the DBZ theme… and I mean no offense by this… the absolutely horrible way in which you've presented yourself would have immediately turned me away. I'm honestly surprised no one has mentioned this sooner.

The "good experinced builders that are steady , hard workers" that you are looking for would likely not find themselves attracted to a game where the person recruiting displayed a complete lack of spelling, punctuation, and attention to grammar.

When I first read your post, my initial reaction was to post a simply reply asking "Are builders applying for your game expected to display better writing skills than you do?" I bite my tongue a lot, because I don't find joy in needlessly flaming other people, but when you post an ad like that, you can't expect to get a lot of positive response.

Me personally, I'd never put more work or more care into a game than the people running it. As an Admin of my own game, I would never ask anyone put more work or care into what they do then what I do personally for the game. The way you advertise for staff or players says something about your game. If you won't take the little bit of extra time to capitalize the beginning of your sentences, add in a comma here and there, put an apostrophe in your contractions and use end punctuation, that doesn't give me high hopes that much care or consideration has gone into the game. That may be something to consider.

Another consideration is that the activity around here is much lower than comparable sites, such as the MUD Connector, and from my experience, this site tends to be quite heavy on the developer side, with an overall unlikely chance of the random builder popping by. Your post has probably been seen more by other developers and others tied down to a project already than anything. This site isn't also very widely known as a hot recruiting spot. A more focused site such as an anime site, or a broader site like TMC might be a better bet for trying to catch more interest.

I do caution you against posting an ad like this on TMC, however, because you will likely get a flood of flames for the poor spelling and grammar.

What do you mean? No one on TMC flames, ever. Specifically, not me… *cough* Wait, at least 500 of my 1,500+ posts there are likely flames?

Well, Hades isn't asking for competent staff. Nor was he "making fun" of spelling etc. – he was pointing out that it just looks pretty bad, and is unlikely to attract the competent staff in question. I admit that, unless I believe there's a language issue, such poor spelling/grammar gives me an immediate impression of inattention to detail, which to some extent translates to a lack of respect toward the people you're communicating with. I didn't mention it because there are other, larger issues that make it hard to find staff in the first place; the form of the request is just icing on the cake, if you will.

This topic has been split into http://www.mudbytes.net/index.php?a=topi...

I did consider locking the new thread on its creation and just leaving it up there for archive purposes, but I will leave it unlocked for now. Please keep it civil, no more personal attacks or attacks on peoples posts.

Also, do not derail this thread any further, if you have any argument with this decision, you may take it up in PM but no more posts on the subject in this thread please.

Thank you
