Oh, wait, I think I see where it might be happening. Tyche has a ladybug image in his sig which isn't loading anymore. It's possible the system is trying to locate the image and can't. Making it appear as though it froze.

Upon futher toying, I think its something to do with the banner rotations. They seem to, for me, load consideribly after the rest of the site and when doing so seem very freeze-like.
