Ok sorry to ask another dumb question but I can't seem to connect to the SSH or the MUD from outside the local network. My port forwarding is fine DMZ host is fine and my ISP allows server/hosts. I turned the firewall off via ufw disable for the time being and firewall in the router is off for now. Any ideas on why all ports are OPEN but still closed off. I even did a port scan from www.whatsmyip.org and it says its all open. Thanks again guys.

if canyouseeme.org or similar websites can connect, then the problem is not the network the MUD is in, but the network you are connecting from

Thanks yea I figured it out. My router did not allow loopbacks so when I telneted to another shell and then sshed back in it worked perfect. Thanks again!
