Dead Souls is a mud codebase that's fun*, easy to install, run, and learn.

Installation features:
- Easy to install, with clear and thorough install docs.
- Installable on Windows with no extra software. Executable is included.
- Easily installable on modern unixes such as Linux, Solaris, OSX, BSD, etc.

Player features:
- Multiple races available, and more are easily added.

General neat stuff:
- IMC2 and Intermud-3 connections to chat communities (optional).
- Sophisticated command parsing: "gi 2.bo fi 3" works, as well as "give the second book to the third fighter"

make it your own. DS3 is written in LPC, an easy to learn

Now, I'm excited! I'm debating between this codebase and CoffeeMUD. I have to poke around the forums to see what others are doing with it. If I can add/find the few other features that I need, I maybe a DS fan for life.

DS is fabulously awesome and in my opinion, also awesomely fabulous. Having said that,
CM is pretty good too. Pretty *DARN* good, too. Do a thorough test drive of both before deciding.
