I'm trying to connect to a particular mud, however it appears to be lagged such that none of the clients I've used for connecting to it are able to attempt connection long enough to actually get a connection. I know that it is there, and that it can be connected to, merely that there is a certain amount of lag when doing so.

So, I am trying to find a telnet client of some sort that has a configurable timeout so that I can set it to wait long enough that a connection will be more likely to be successful. It needs to be for Windows as well.

I've tried MushClient, SimpleMu, and Windows Telnet so far; all with no success.

What kind of timeout are we talking about? If it's taking that long just to establish the connection, why do you think that it will be playable? How are you sure that the server is actually there, or more importantly, actually reachable from your network?

I was speaking of an outgoing connection attempt timeout, which there should be although I suppose there might not be. However, while I had tried before to resolve any issues with my router(s)/firewall(s) restricting access to said Mud with no success, I decided to give it another go and, sure enough, I found and resolved the issue. On that note, I'd like to say there's an inherent problem with router firmware designers that decide to "make things easy" for people by trying to list ports to block/allow according to what a particular mainstream program uses - in this case, the port was being blocked due to being listed for "Napster" - resulting in connection attempts that timed out. Rather annoying, really.

Anyhow, thanks for the help.
