Which helpfile do I need to edit in order to modify what the player sees when using the eq/equipment? I'd like to modify it to show the corresponding slot as it does when examining another player. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you mean the "equipment" command, it's not in a helpfile, it's in src/player.c.
