For those who have asked, don't worry. We didn't forget!

The site updates are still being worked out. We have some surprises in store for what's become known as "Version 2" among us admin types. My guess is that most people will love them, some will roll their eyes, and a few will hate them to pieces. But that's the way things go, isn't it?

The good news is, the skin has been bashed into compliance with IE so for now the Evil One is tamed. The bad news is Davion is making me wait for Version 2 to deploy it. Blame him

From what Davion's hinted to me about "version 2", I'm very eager to see it in the final form, but more than willing to wait while you guys get it the way you want it first. :)

Since there are bound to have been screwups and other bugs, please report those here in this thread. We'll be picking them up as time permits.

And thanks for the compliments thus far. :)

Oh, and before anyone asks: No. We aren't going to have voting on the mud listings.

I have to second Dragona's comments, while we'll certainly keep our eyes open for any bugs and be sure to let you know about them as we find them, I think the new look looks terrific and the new features are wonderful. Sorry to hear no voting on listings, but then it just means one less place to have to add to my help entry on voting…

Ok, got a minor 'bug' or two for you regarding the new mud listings…

First, the body text appears to not wrap, so if you change text size in your browser, the body gets pretty funky. :(

Second, while it does list the web address and telnet address and port number, there's no links at all in the listing for either the web site nor telnet.

Third, the admin's contact name should probably either link back to their profile here or at least their email address.

Fourth, in my case, Dragona set up our listing and set me as the admin but I have no access to manage the listing, can we have multiple listing managers?

That's all for the moment… ;)

Not sure if this was intentional or if you just don't care about it, but it looks like you can just keep refreshing to boost a listing's 'connections' counter.

Might've found a bug. I got a 'you have searched in the past 10 seconds' thing without having searched beforehand.

Faking the count will not do anything as far as advertisement weight goes. Everyone will get equal (infact, the main page of the mud list orders them by the least connections to the greatest. So if you want to push yourself off that list, be my guest :))

I don't know what to say here :P. Tell me if it's a reoccuring problem.

Samson fixed that pretty quick after going live… just not quick enough to match your master mudlisting-adding speed :S. We try! Try editing again, and adding those hard returns back into it. It'll work fine.

There is no support for that ATM. Ultimately, the one who creates the listing gains admin privs regardless of who they set the admin is. Those are simply there for contact information. Adding a link back to the admins ID will only be possible if the creator of the listing is the listed admin, due to many people sharing the same name. (eg. MUD a's admin is John. User 24 here is John and doesn't run MUD a and gets links back to his name in your game listing.) Although, I will whip up the ability for only the admin to set guest admins to the account so that they can edit the MUD as well to avoid such problems.

Alright Conner :P Just for you! If you hit up the management section of the MUD List, then go into and edit your listing, you'll notice a neat new section above the banners. Next to the header is a link to (Add), click Add, it'll throw up a simple form, enter the name of the person you want to be your guest admin in there, search. It'll show you a name, and a link to Confirm Addition. Click that to confirm. After that, the person will have editing abilities.

The Guest Admin Restrictions:
You can only be a guest admin of one MUD at a time.
You cannot remove, or add other guest admins to an account (except yourself)you are a guest admin of.
You cannot delete the listing you guest admin.

Happy huntings!

Thanks Davion, it appears to work just fine now this way, and those restrictions are quite reasonable enough for my purposes… and i'll got re-edit the body of my listing and see if I can't get the hard returns right this time. ;)
