A spoof mud of the Dallas/Dynasty type of American soap might be interesting. Think of it: you could have the most ridiculous, unbelievable, totally nonsense events occurring (like waking up to realise that the past 18 months of your life had been a dream) - and you could even have demons working towards certain events (scriptwriters), and your aim would be to stop them, in order to keep the world as 'believable' as you could get it. Come to think of it, wouldn't a spoof mud in itself be interesting? Say, a world based on the stereotypes of society, with a comic edge?
