This depends on how your combat functions, or in a 'real' example, how you
consider the situation. Assuming things are 3d, you may not be able to get
TO the most dangerous opponent without hacking through a few small
inconveniences first.

This is particularly true when ranged weapons play a part, or some
theoretically sound strategy is employed in a larger scale conflict - that
of sending in the 'grunts' to try and break the enemies front line before
risking more trained/skilled men. Rarely as effective as you might like
(since the enemy will certainly be *expecting* it), but probably common
place.
