[ChrisL] :A verb can also be attahed to a (semi-)global root object, from which damn :near everything is Sod's little creation incenstuously inherits. And Lo! :There breathed upon the land global verbs! : :You can then add manual kick-outs to anything local that's more :specific... : :>If as many verbs as possible are global verbs, then it mostly falls out :>for free. : :And you end up with Baal's own creation for your local language matrix. I don't follow your meaning here. You end up with a consistent base set of verbs available, modified by local objects. Hopefully that local modification is kept to a minimum, and does not violate the "spirit" of the more global verbs. As usual, that's part of the set of conventions for coding within the MUD. -- Chris Gray cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00136.html">Re: Resets and repops</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00138.html">Re: Resets and repops</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00133.html">Re: mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00065.html">Threads, IO handling, and Event Queues</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#00135"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#00135"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><STRONG>Re: mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</STRONG>, <EM>(continued)</EM> <ul compact> <LI><strong><A NAME="00085" HREF="msg00085.html">Re: mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Tue 11 Mar 1997, 13:20 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00112" HREF="msg00112.html">mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</A></strong>, claw <a href="mailto:claw#null,net">claw#null,net</a>, Sat 15 Mar 1997, 07:29 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00121" HREF="msg00121.html">Re: mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Sun 16 Mar 1997, 04:15 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00133" HREF="msg00133.html">Re: mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</A></strong>, claw <a href="mailto:claw#null,net">claw#null,net</a>, Tue 18 Mar 1997, 02:30 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00135" HREF="msg00135.html">Re: mud grammar (was Re: Just a bit of musing)</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Tue 18 Mar 1997, 23:50 GMT </LI> </ul> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00065" HREF="msg00065.html">Threads, IO handling, and Event Queues</A></strong>, Nathan Yospe <a href="mailto:yospe#hawaii,edu">yospe#hawaii,edu</a>, Thu 06 Mar 1997, 10:10 GMT <UL> <li><Possible follow-up(s)><br> <LI><strong><A NAME="00066" HREF="msg00066.html">Re: Threads, IO handling, and Event Queues</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Thu 06 Mar 1997, 23:49 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00067" HREF="msg00067.html">Re: Threads, IO handling, and Event Queues</A></strong>, coder <a href="mailto:coder#ibm,net">coder#ibm,net</a>, Sat 08 Mar 1997, 11:38 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00074" HREF="msg00074.html">Re: Threads, IO handling, and Event Queues</A></strong>, coder <a href="mailto:coder#ibm,net">coder#ibm,net</a>, Sat 08 Mar 1997, 11:54 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL></BLOCKQUOTE> </ul> <hr> <center> [ <a href="../">Other Periods</a> | <a href="../../">Other mailing lists</a> | <a href="/search.php3">Search</a> ] </center> <hr> </body> </html>
