A densely wooded path~
Trees soar up towards the sky to the east and west. Breaks in the canopy
provide precious little streaks of light. Thick shrubbery on both sides of
the trail prevents any movements except towards the mountain, or back to
town.

Moving furthur into the woods~
Although the east and west are still impassable, the trees seem to be
growing less dense as the elevation changes. Strange bird calls echo through
the woods with no discernible source.

Travellers Rest~
A break in the trees reveals a small spring bubbling fresh water into a
small rock pool. A doe looks up from drinking and darts off into the woods.

A lip in the trail gives a breathtaking panorama of the woodland
landscape sloping down towards the south.

Approaching the mountains~
Loose scree tumbles down the steep sides of the path. Dark clouds cling
to the mountainside, reducing visibility significantly.

A steep grade~
The ascent is rapidly getting more difficult. Small shrubs and trees
serve as the only handholds to continue on.

A steep climb~
This trail abruptly stops in front of a large cliff. No way around or
down. Small cracks on the surface provide ideal handholds for the long
ascent.

Calim's Peak~
This is the very top of Calim's Peak. The land stretches out below for
miles and miles. Far in the distance the spires of Ri'on Dashor can be seen
to the south. It only seems possible to continue on north, or curve around
to the east and west.

The western ridge~
Moving west along the ridge nothing but rocks and stooped trees and
bushes can be seen.

A bend in the ridge~
The path curves here and the footing is terrible at best. A stone kicked
loose bounces down the slope.

A strange rock formation~
To the left of the path is a strange formation of rocks. They seem to be
a grave marking, or religious symbol of some type.

view of the way ahead.

You come to a curve. By the edge of the mountain you notice a small

You walk along the ridge. A cold wind is blowing in from the valley
below, chilling you to the bone.

You've been making good progress through the path. Far in the distance
though it seems that you are being lead straight to the base of a huge sheer
cliff.

Approaching the cliff~
You are now very close the cliff. Observing it from a distance you can
make out no obvious handholds. How on earth are you going to get around it?

At the cliffside~
You arrive at the base of the cliff. Towering several hundred feet above
you the face is to sheer to think of climbing. You notice a small path
leading down into the darkness. In front of the cliff a small rockslide
seems to have dropped a massive boulder in front of a small cavern entrance.

A cramped dark cave~
It is DARK. You can barely make your way through the cave. Even more
disconcerting are the scraping and grunting noises you hear from deeper
within the small cave.

Descending into the valley~
As you walk down the path to the valley the scenery becomes greener and
trees begin to sprout, offering blessed shade from the sun.

The Valley path~
The valley around you is green and lush. Once again wildlife can be heard
skittering and chittering around you. The path is well marked and very easy
to follow.

You walk into an open area with a small lily pond. Goldfish splash and
swim about. Picking up a stone, you skip it across the surface

The valley meadow~
You are in a broad expanse of flat field filled with wild flowers. Off in
the distance, you can just make out the roof of a house.

You stand before a ramshackle hut. Judging from the decay it seems a fair
guess that nobody is home. A small path leads to the garden

Nearing the bottom~
As you make your way down the mountain trees and vegetation begin to
reappear in your surrondings. You hear the mournful howl of a wolf off in
the distance.

The hunting ground~
Oh no! You've stumbled into the hunting ground of that wolf you heard
earlier. And he seems to have brought some friends.

Having battled past the wolves you emerge onto the plains below.

A bone pit~
Walking through the dark room you trip over something hard. Looking down
you see a small pit of bleached white bones. Most seem to be small woodland
creatures but one big leg bone makes you very uneasy.

Deeper in the cave~
You move furthur back into the cave. You can just make out dim
scribblings on the walls. The hand is childish in form, but the language is
something you've never seen before.

A water pool~
The ceiling is very close to your head, so close that you almost have to
stoop to walk around. A small pool of water is reflecting low light against
the back wall.

A darkened cavern~
You see nothing special in this room except for a few massive stalagmites
that pop up from the floor like teeth.

Nearing the light~
Some light seems to be shining from a point deeper in the tunnels. You
must be nearing the end.

At the end~
You finally have come to the end of the cave. Just a few more steps and
the precious light of day is yours once again.

Light forest~
The small path twists both north and south, where the northen path leads
out of the forest, and the southern deeper into it. The song of birds can be
heard from deep within the forest.

Light forest~
To the north the forest is not quite as dense, and the rays of the sun
seems to reach deeper into the underbrush. A pathway twists it's way to the
east, deeper into the forest.
