USAGE ls [ -a -s -F ] [path]
This command will show you the files and directories in the
current directory. You can change the default behavior of ls by
suppplying a valid path, and the optional - arguments.
-a -- shows the hidden files (i.e. .edrc )
-s -- shows the file size to the left of the file
-F -- shows a / to the right of the directory name
ls /wiz/zifnab
/wiz/zifnab/:
EVAL.c doc people.c safe.c tplmenu.c
Mh.c mailer.c pool_room.c t_people.c workroom.c
backup_menu.c mailtest rooms t_people.c%
ls -a /wiz/zifnab
/wiz/zifnab/:
.edrc backup_menu.c people.c t_people.c
.mailtest doc pool_room.c t_people.c%
EVAL.c mailer.c rooms tplmenu.c
Mh.c mailtest safe.c workroom.c
Notice the .edrc and the .mailtest shown by adding the -a option to ls
ls -s /wiz/zifnab
/wiz/zifnab/:
1 EVAL.c 10 mailer.c 4 rooms 10 tplmenu.c
2 Mh.c 0 mailtest 2 safe.c 1 workroom.c
10 backup_menu.c 3 people.c 3 t_people.c

Notice the size of the files next to the file name .
ls -F /wiz/zifnab
/wiz/zifnab/:
EVAL.c doc/ people.c safe.c tplmenu.c
Mh.c mailer.c pool_room.c t_people.c workroom.c*
backup_menu.c mailtest/ rooms t_people.c%
Notice the / to the right of the directory name.
The flags and path are both optional, if you leave off the path
ls assumes you meant the current directory.
ls -asF /wiz/zifnab
ls -Fs /wiz.zifnab
ls -F
