#AREA Dungeon~ #AUTHORS MrMud~ #HELPS -1 JAIL IMPRISONMENT MRPD DUNGEON 'THE DUNGEON'~ The Dungeon is the ultimate method of punishment available to a Sheriff. An imprisoned player will stay in the dungeon and cannot communicate with the outside world until ones prison sentence expires. The duration of the sentence can be found in the finger info of the captive, as well as the reason for captivity. The dungeon updated to ensure prisoner captivity on 16 May 1998. The dungeon updated to ensure prisoner captivity on 05 Jan 1999. (A) Sheriff Policies (B) List of Legal and Illegal Practices {-}PRESTO {a}MRPD1 {b}MRPD0 ~ -1 MRPD1~ Rules of the Realm as Enforced by the Sheriffs (Most of them at least): ---------------------------------------------------------------------- These rules are set up as a guideline for ensuring an enjoyable gaming environment. Some actions are more severe than others, and methods of punishment is at the officer's discretion. IGNORANCE OF THE RULES IS NOT AN EXCUSE! (A) Multi-Playing (D) Bug Abuse (G) Punishment (B) Player Names (E) Idling and Scripts (H) Sharing Characters (C) Harrassment (F) Titles (I) Spamming (J) Summoning Rules {a}MRPD2 {b}MRPD3 {c}MRPD4 {d}MRPD5 {e}MRPD6 {f}MRPD7 {g}MRPD8 {h}MRPD9 {i}MRPDA1 {j}MRPD0 ~ -1 MRPD2~ Multi-Playing: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Multi-Playing is defined as one person having more than one character logged into the game at a time. The current limit is THREE characters MAXIMUM at any one time. During heavy periods of lag an officer will notify players of a new limit, either ONE or TWO MAXIMUM depending on the amount of lag. Violation of this rule is justification for severe punishment. Punishment for multi-playing is as follows: First offense: 1 week in the dungeon Second offense: 2 weeks in the dungeon Third offense: 1 month in the dungeon After the third offense, punishment is doubled. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD3~ Player Names: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suitable names are an essential part of maintaining a role-playing environment. Stupid names, names which involve profanity, or sexual implications, or names that use illegal words will NOT be tolerated. eg: Stupid names: buttmunch, dorkone, dorktwo, Tdork, BGut, FFFunnyyy. eg: Illegal words: Lord, Lady, Sir, Miss, Maiden, Squire, Thee eg: Handles: TheBigOne, LordHolio, SirNerd, FrogBoy, etc. eg: Similar names: Rhapsody and Rhapsodys, etc. Names that are from television programs and movies are illegal, unless they come from shows which take place during the medieval period. We recognize that several current players have what would be considered illegal names under the new rules. So this policy kicks in: 16-Nov-95. All players created before this date are considered exempt. If you delete a character with an illegal name, that name is no longer exempt. Punishment for breaking this rule is immediate the dungeoning until the character auto-deletes. There will be no level limit at which punishment will be waived. If you want the equipment from the the dungeoned character, post a note to the officers, after removing the equipment you must delete said character. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD4~ Harrassment: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Harrassment is defined as one person going to extremes to make the game an unenjoyable place for another player. What is "extreme" will be defined by the baron for each specific situation. While things like player-killing, assassination, and steal are skills that can only be exercised in a limited fashion, name-calling, swearing, unwanted sexual overtures etc are all forms of harrassment that will not be tolerated. Anything you communicate on any channel (notes, talk, chat, say, tell) about someone else that is demeaning, degrading, or meant to humiliate will be considered harassment. For example: The skill 'spy' was meant specifically as a help for assassination. What you overhear and tell to others by means of spy can be considered harassment. Punishment for harassment is as follows: First offense: 1 week in the dungeon Second offense: 2 weeks in the dungeon Third offense: 1 month in the dungeon Any offense after the third will be doubled. (-) Back {a}MRPD0 {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD5~ Bug Abuse: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bugs are defined as quirks in the coding that allow you to do things that aren't intended as a part of game play. Using a bug in any way is considered abuse. And any abuse will result in a severe action from the police. If you find a bug, report it IMMEDIATELY, so that it can be taken care of. Failure to report a bug or the use of a bug by another player is a severe offence, and can even get your character deleted! Punishment for bug abuse is: First offense: slay and sacrifice of all equipment + two weeks in the dungeon Second offense: deletion of character NOTE: Any characters involved with "god bugs" whether you use the command or are effected by it, will be deleted. Any abuse of a bug that enables a player to gain levels and strength (hp, mv, pracs, mana, etc...) will cause deletion. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD6~ Idling Characters: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Idling characters taxes the CPU, and in general, slows the entire game down. Anyone caught idling can expect to have their characters the dungeoned and disconnected. Punishment for idling is: First offense: 1 day in the dungeon Second offense: 3 days in the dungeon Third offense: 1 week in the dungeon After the third offense, the dungeon time doubles. Scripting to autolevel any character is illegal. You may use a script to roll your character but any script usage other than that is strictly forbidden. If a baron sends you tells (and does a goto to the room you are in) and you do not reply but continue to attack and kill mobs you will be the dungeoned for scripting. Punishment for scripting is: First offense: 1 month in the dungeon Second offense: 2 months in the dungeon Third offense: 4 months in the dungeon After the third offense, the dungeon time doubles. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD7~ Appropriate Titles and Other (Visible Information): ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Titles can be seen by everyone in the game. We want them as clean as possible. No sexual implications, profanity, racist remarks, etc will be tolerated in titles, tactical indexes, disguises, descriptions, email addresses, or any other form of written communication. Punishment for inappropriate titles: First offense: levels 1-90 Slaughter levels 91-95 1 day in the dungeon Second offense: 3 days in the dungeon Third offense: 1 week in the dungeon After the third offense, punishment is doubled. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD8~ Punishment: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sheriffs are expected to listen to your side of the story before any punishment, except for idling and scripting. If you choose to be rude or have a bad attitude, the officer may slay, slaughter or execute you. Punishment can take place in a variety of forms. Sheriffs have the following commands at their disposal: SLAY - Kills your character without loss of experience. SLAUGHTER - Kills your character with loss of experience. DISCONNECT - Makes your character lose link. Other options of punishment are: EXECUTION - Public execution of your character. SACRIFICE - The ordered sacrificing of all your character's possessions. IMPRISONMENT - Keeps your character from doing anything productive for an indefinite time. NOTE: These jail terms for punishments are recommendations for jail sentences. The actual jail time is at the discretion of the jailer. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPD9~ Sharing Characters: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sharing characters is not authorized. This means that any trouble caused by a character, even if it's not being used by the player who created it, will be paid for by the character. Any disputes over ownership of a shared character will be settled by the players. Asking for help from a god or officer to get a lost character back will not work. The only way to ensure your characters are protected is to use good passwords and trust them to none other than yourself. If you are going to share your character with someone else, please make sure you do not give out the password on the game. Email or a phone call will protect you from having your password spied upon. (-) Back {-}MRPD1 ~ -1 MRPDA1~ Spamming is flooding another player with useless or irrevelant text. It is typically done by repeating a command numerous times. This is illegal. It is legal to spam yourself if you think you are being spied upon. The limits of spamming are as follows: Any public channel (talk, chat, notes, etc.): 5 times. Any private channel (tells, says): 10 times. For player-killers who spam tintin users the limit is 15 times per kill attempt. Note that is 15 times all together, not 15 times for each tintin command. The punishments for spamming are: First offense: 3 days in the dungeon Second offense: 1 week in the dungeon Third offense: 2 weeks in the dungeon Punishments double after the third offense. ~ -1 MRPD0~ Player Killing and Summoning (What's legal and illegal?): You may not assassinate (and kill) any character more than two times in a 24 hour period (rl). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Murdering a follower of the opposite god. LEGAL Assassinating anyone within your level range or higher. LEGAL Summoning a killer to a guard. LEGAL Summoning an opposite follower to be murdered by you. LEGAL Summoning an opp fol to be attacked by a fol of the same god as you. LEGAL Summoning an army oponent to be attacked by another in your army. LEGAL Summoning an army oponent to be murdered by you. LEGAL Summoning a killer to a guard repeatedly (more than twice). ILLEGAL Summoning non-god fol to be attacked repeatedly (more than twice). ILLEGAL Summoning anyone to be attacked by another of your characters. ILLEGAL Summoning anyone to be attacked by a neutral assassin. ILLEGAL Summoning anyone to an aggressive mob. ILLEGAL Summoning a neutral player to be assassinated. ILLEGAL NOTE: Guards only attack killers and thieves. They are not aggressive mobs.
