The walls are etched with sacred golden symbols and the coffin itself is made of one continuous piece of melded gold. This is the grave of the priest who performed the final funeral rights for the great pharaoh Ramses. After the funeral, the priest gladly gave his life so he could help guide Ramses into the afterlife. ~ 31 9 0 D3 It is very dark there. ~ door~ 1 -1 14277 S #14279 Entrance to the Great Tomb~ The doors to the south appear to be made of solid gold! Several long dead potted plants are lined around the door, and a long decayed feast lies on a polished wood table. ~ 31 9 0 D2 A set of solid gold doors blocks you view. ~ door~ 9 -1 14280 D5 The stairs lead down into the darkness. ~ ~ 0 -1 14276 S #14280 The Tomb of the Great Pharaoh Ramses~ The walls of this room are entirely coated with gold. A large emerald coffin has been set into the floor, and the lid is laying on the ground next to it. Several everyday items have been left here, such as a washing basin and a bed, so that Ramses could take them with him into the afterlife. ~ 31 9 0 D0 It is too dark to see there. ~ door~ 9 -1 14279 S #14281 Lit Corridor~ The corridor widens here, and you see the remnants of half-eaten humanoids. You get the feeling that something large and aggressive lives here. ~ 31 8 1 D2 An alcove is to the south. ~ ~ 0 -1 14282 D3 The lit corridor continues west. ~ ~ 0 -1 14275 S #14282 Alcove~ This is a small, unused chamber. You see a steep tunnel leading down. You feel that if you go down, you won't be able to get back up. ~ 31 9 0 D0 The lit corridor is north. ~ ~ 0 -1 14281 D5 A steep tunnel leads down. ~ ~ 0 -1 14244 S #14283 Collapsing Floor~ As you enter this room, the floor crumbles under your feet, causing you to commence a 150 foot drop into an underground lava flow. The ceiling is only four feet high, and the walls seem to close you in. ~ 31 8 1 D0 The passage continues north. ~ ~ 0 -1 14285 D2 The crumbling junction is south. ~ ~ 0 -1 14256 S #14285 Well Constructed Corridor~ As you go further into the pyramid, you notice the construction getting better. The giant six foot cube blocks fit together perfectly without mortar. Was this section built for a special purpose? ~ 31 8 1 D0 The corridor continues north. ~ ~ 0 -1 14286 D2 A tiny passage is south. ~ ~ 0 -1 14284 S #14286 Well Constructed Corridor~ The corridor enlarges a bit here, making walking more comfortable. A long unused passage leads east and the corridor continues north and south. ~ 31 8 1 D0 The corridor continues north. ~ ~ 0 -1 14292 D1 The little used passage leads east. ~ ~ 0 -1 14287 D2 The corridor continues south. ~ ~ 0 -1 14285 S #14287 Little Used Passage~ This passage seems darker and creepier than the other corridor. The unusually large spider you see seems to tell you, "You are lost." ~ 31 9 1 D1 A junction is east. ~ ~ 0 -1 14288 D3 A junction is west. ~ ~ 0 -1 14286 S #14288 A T-Junction~ The corridors meet in a T here, with exits to the north, south, and west. Every nerve in your body screams for you to go back. An immovable portcullis blocks a passage to the east. You feel an almost holy presence nearby.
