#16000 The Mountain Trail ~ You now seem to be on a path which leads onward through a thick grove of trees. The trees seem to be of all different kinds. Some are Pine, Oak, Aspen, and even a few you can't recognize. The trail seems to be barely visible now, it looks as if it hasn't been used in several years. The roots have pushed themselves up in places, making the ground unsteady to travel. It seems to be a little darker in the trees up ahead, as the sun is blocked out by the trees. ~ 48 8 1 D0 You see a valley opening up ahead of you. ~ ~ 0 -1 16001 D5 You see the Midgaard Inn Reception. ~ ~ 0 -1 3008 S #16001 The Mountain Trail ~ You continue on through the trees, over the uneven trail. As you walk along you seem to notice that you are climbing even higher up in the mountains. As you turn and look behind you, you can see the land where you once were. From here you can see the plains and valleys you walked through to get here. Further on, the trees have still blocked out the sun for the most part, and the trail doesn't seem to be getting any better. . . . . ~ 48 8 1 D0 ~ ~ 0 -1 16002 D2 You see the path going back down the mountain. ~ ~ 0 -1 16000 S #16002 Farther up the Mountain~ WHEW! What a climb! You seem to have come even farther up this mountain. The trees are still holding most of the sunlight out, except for a few stray beams here and there. You see a couple birds flutter out of a tree and hear the sounds of squirrels chattering somewhere behind you. You inhale deeply, filling your lungs with the fresh air of the mountainside. You prepare yourself to venture further on. The trail is getting hard to see. . . ~ 48 8 1 D0 The trail, although hard to see, continues on into the trees~ ~ 0 -1 16003 D2 This trail seems to open up to the south.~ ~ 0 -1 16001 S #16003 Deep in the Mountain Forest~ Now you find yourself deep in the forest, and somewhere high in a mountain. You consider turning back, asking yourself what could possibly be up here. The trail is all but gone now, and you will have to venture on using your sense of direction. ~ 48 8 1 D0 More trees, as far as you can see~ ~ 0 -1 16004 D2 The trail goes back down the mountainside~ ~ 0 -1 16002 S #16004 In the Dense Forest ~ You are still in the dense trees, and still no sign of the trail you were on, but doesn't it seem that it's getting easier to walk now? As if you were now going downhill? Hmmmmmmmmm. . . ~ 48 8 1 D0 More Trees up ahead~ ~ 0 -1 16005 D2 Desn't appear to be anything but trees in that direction~ ~ 0 -1 16003 S #16005 In the Dense Forest~ Trees, trees everywhere! You are beginning to wonder if maybe you shouldn't have turned back when you first entered this place. It would not be hard to get lost in all these trees. But wait! It looks as if the forest clears up to the North. . . ~ 48 8 1 D0 The trees clear up a little bit~ ~ 0 -1 16006 D2 Trees there too!~ ~ 0 -1 16004 S #16006 The Rockslide~ The trees have cleared here, but not for the better. You only have a split second to look around you before you are swept down the side of the mountain with a pile of loose rocks. After what seems like several minutes of sliding and tumbling, you come to a stop at the base of the rockslide. Looking back up the mountain, it is obvious that the rockslide is not climbable. The surroundings you notice are not too much different from the top of the rockslide where you just were. There are more trees in every direction, and the only clear spot visible, is at the pile of rocks right here. ~ 48 8 1 D0 More trees as far as you can see~ ~ 0 -1 16007 D2 Trees start covering the land densely. ~ ~ 0 -1 16005 S #16007 The Lost Forest~ This part of the forest appears different than the part before. The trees are so close together, it looks as if there has never been any kind of people here before. There are not very many sounds here, either. The only noticable ones are the wind gently making its way through the branches above you, and an occasional bird finding a new tree to sit in. It is obvious to see why no one has ever been here, because getting out appears next to impossible. ~ 48 8 1 D0 Trees as far as you can see~ ~ 0 -1 16008 D2 More stinkin trees! ~ ~ 0 -1 16006 S #16008 The Lost Forest~ The trees continue in all directions from here. There doesn't seem to be any changes in the scenery, except for what appears to be something shining in the sunlight far to the North. It can barely be seen from here. ~ 48 8 1 D0 In the midst of the trees, there seems to be something catching the light~ ~ 0 -1 16009 D2 Lots of green trees~ ~ 0 -1 16007 S #16009 Edge of the Lost Forest~ The trees have cleared considerably at this point, giving way to a better view of the object which has been reflecting the light. It is not easy to tell, but it looks to be quite large, and possibly, quite old. A small path has formed leading towards it. ~ 48 8 1 D0 Something can be seen sparkling in the sunlight, and the trees clear a bit~ ~ 0 -1 16010 D2 More trees that direction~ ~ 0 -1 16008 S #16010 The Gate ~ The small path has given way to a large clearing now. The clearing is about 20 feet wide, and looks to be worn, as if recently used by someone, or something. Directly North, in the center of the clearing, is a very tall, and ornate gate. It looks as if it could be made of solid Gold, but it has apparently aged considerably. The gate is slightly open, but not revealing what may be found on the other side. ~ 48 0 1 D0 You see a large gate, which is slightly open~ ~ 0 -1 16012 D2 The trees get thicker that direction~ ~ 0 -1 16009 S #16011 Mete's House~ ~ 48 8 1 D0 You are in Mete's house. ~ ~ 0 -1 16054 D1 You are in Mete's house. ~ ~ 0 -1 16019 D2 You are in Mete's house. ~ ~ 0 -1 16019 D3 You are in Mete's house. ~ ~ 0 -1 16019 D4 You are in Mete's house. ~ ~ 0 -1 16019 D5 You are in Mete's house. ~ ~ 0 -1 16019 S #16012 Entrance to the City~ The dirt path has stopped, and a road made of stones has taken it's place. The stones have been finely cut in such a way that they lay flat, and are totally smooth. To the East and West is a very high wall, with the trees of the forest outside rising above it. The wall appears to be made of stones similar to the ones of the road, only slightly larger. The wall extends both South to connect to the gate, and North to the city square, forming a "foyer". Some buildings can be seen to the North, standing fairly close together. The sounds of many people, and the smell of something delicious cooking are drifting on the breeze. ~ 48 8 1 D0 The city square is North~ ~ 0 -1 16013 D2 That takes you back outside the gate~ ~ 0 -1 16010 S #16013 The City Square~ The wall on either side has given way to the large city square. There is a large building to the North, and it has an important look to it. The road, which now goes East and West, has more buildings lining it in both directions. The buildings look like they could be shops, or small homes, or maybe both. This city is almost perfectly hidden inside this forest. Almost too perfect to be coincidence. ~ 48 8 1 D0 This part of the city looks deserted. ~ ~ 0 -1 16061 D1 Main Street East~ ~ 0 -1 16023 D2 The entrance to the city is back that way~ ~ 0 -1 16012 D3 Main street continues, with more buildings on either side~ ~ 0 -1 16015 D5 The well looks AWFULLY deep!~ ~ 0 -1 16014 S #16014 Bottom of the Well~ As you fall over the edge of the well, and the equipment you are wearing begins to pull you down to the bottom, you can't help but wonder. . . . "Why did i do that?" You try to hold your breath, but your lungs, acting on instinct inhale deeply painfully filling your lungs with cold water, making you wish. . . ~ 48 10 1 S #16015 Main Street West~ This street appears to be the busiest part of town. Stores and shops line both sides of the street. For the amount of people seen in the street this place is quite quiet. You wonder why? Do they have something to hide from the outside world? ~ 48 0 1 D0 A large wooden door, with a sign hanging above it~ ~ 0 -1 16016 D1 Back to the main city square~ ~ 0 -1 16013 D2 A small shop with a sign on it's door~ ~ 0 -1 16017 D3 Main Street leads farther West to more shops, and a turn in the road~ ~ 0 -1 16018 S #16016 Gauzzo's Inn~ This looks like a comfortable place to spend the night. The innkeeper here appears to be honest enough. The big smile on his face is more than enough to convince you into asking for a room from him. ~ 48 8 1 D2 Out the door, is the western part of the main street and lots of shops~ ~ 0 -1 16015 D3 That leads to the dining room~ ~ 0 -1 16022 S #16017 Wysa's Magic Goods~ Wysa sits in a corner inscribing characters into glowing scrolls. The absence of store signs make them similar to each other. The buildings are built with a feeling of warmth and friendliness.
