OLC BUILDING -=a guide to RoAOLC=- RoAOLC, written by James T. Rhone, aka Vall, for the Realms of Aurealis, is an extensive, user-friendly, and extremely powerful means of creating zones for exploration for our very-non-stock Circle 2.2-based MUD. The level of its integration into the MUD's code itself (rather than a standalone, zone-editing package of code) is what makes it so powerful. Unfortunately, it is also what would make it a huge undertaking to make it releaseable to the public. While it is very user-friendly and works with good logic, some parts of it can be quite cryptic. Therefore, wizhelpfiles have been written to cover as much of it as possible, to help the novice immortal or even veteran builder understand best the original and unique quirks of its workings. These wizhelpfiles will be kept up-to-date, hopefully. If you find something which is incorrect, not clear, or simply not covered, feel free to let Cyng know so that he can add it or explain it further, or ask any resident builder. Topics covered: -REDIT (room editing - see 'wizhelp REDIT') -MEDIT (mob editing - see 'wizhelp MEDIT') -OEDIT (object editing - see 'wizhelp OEDIT') -ZEDIT (zone editing - see 'wizhelp ZEDIT') -Basic builders' tools such as loading, locking, and listing. -General guidelines for RoA's builders to follow (see 'wizhelp GUIDELINES') There are therefore six basic sections to these wizhelpfiles. These, listed above, have their own prefix. Helpfiles regarding room editing have the R prefix (RFLAGS, REXITS, RTERRAIN, etc.). Helpfiles explaining mob editing have the M prefix (MSPECIALS, MSHOPKEEPS, MAFFECTS, etc.). Helpfiles for object editing have the O prefix (ORANGED, OSPELLEQ, OAFFECTS, etc.). Helpfiles on zone-related building have the Z prefix (ZWEATHER, ZFLAGS, etc.). Helpfiles for our builders' guidelines have the G prefix (GMINLEVELS, GWEIGHT, GSIZE, etc.). The sixth category simply contains helpfiles on other, miscellaneous parts of building, and have no prefix. To see the helpfile that you are interested in, first find a likely keyword by typing 'wizhelp' by itself. Then, once you've found the proper keyword, type 'wizhelp <keyword>' and there you go. For more help, again, ask any resident builder or immortal.
