A circular stone is whirring in a fast spin at the far wall, as the
weaponsmaster of Vandagard continually sharpens his wares, and re-hangs them
to display on the stone and mortar walls.  A single window admits virtually
no light, so filled with the webs and dust of neglect is it.  Obviously the
shopowner prefers to seclude himself to the obsessive labors of his work. 
You wonder if he ever makes anything new, so fanatical he is about
sharpening and re-sharpening the old.

The church has hardly any decoration at all, no more impressive than a
wood hut.  A small altar sits in front of the far wall and a few chairs are
scattered haphazardly about.  The only other piece of furniture, a small

appear to be dedicated to any major god.

The Bank of Vandagard~
The bank is sheltered by the stone towers of the gates and walls of the
old city, but that is all.  Old, battered tapestries hang on the walls and
almost totally fail to keep out the bitter cold.  Clerks wander about
counting your money on greedy fingers.  A small sign sits on the counter,
giving you instruction.

The Windgate of Vandagard~
You are at the central transportation wind gate of the City of Vandagard.
The circular dome that surrounds the gate is made of a pure, white marble. 
The terraced steps leading down towards the gate are lavishly decorated with
gold and jewel inlays.  Several large marble columns adorn the top of the
terrace.  The windgate at the center is a pure off-white arch about 25 feet
tall.  Echos of the great wind can be heard comming from the swriling vortex
that sits inside the gate.

This small building is cramped and dusty, as if the windows had been
closed for centuries and the sun had shriveled it down to size.  Glass
cabinets hold all sorts of wondrous relics and strange baubles whose use has
probably been long-forgotten in the outside world.  Bookshelves filled with
dusty tomes line the back of the shop, and maps of unheard of lands decorate
the wallspace.

Misha's Jewel Emporium.~
Crystal clear glass cases ring the room with all sorts of wonderful
trinkets within them.  Brand new stain-resistant carpetting has been laid
down over cold stone floors in an effort to cut down on the mud carried in
by adventurers.  Enchanted wall sconces give the room a warm, bright glow.

Guildhouse~
The Guildhouse of Vandagard is a surprisingly comfortable place,
furnished with a thick, hardy rug of a red so dark as to almost be black,
beds shelved in bunks of hearty oak, a roaring fireplace in the corner. 
Several large chairs stuffed with coarse wool are situated round the fire
for the rowdy telling of tales over inebriating brews.
