The Head Advisor to the King has an evil little grin on his face.

The Head Advisor is very small for a Kin, and his robes are very
loose-fitting.  Beady eyes dart around behind the floor-length hair that
hangs in front of his face, and a nervous twitch snarls his lip slightly. 
He doesn't look very friendly.

Eltath, the Warrior King~
Perhaps you'd better kneel.  You stand before Eltath, the Warrior King of Tryn.
~
Eltath is known as the 'Warrior King' of Tryn, and for good reason.  He
is one of the largest Kin to have ever been recorded.  Through the small
gaps in his plate mail armor glimpses of a leather wrap suit can be seen. 
He wears a helmet instead of a crown, with a small ruby imbedded in the
middle of the visor.  Over one shoulder is slung a great war axe, over the
other the butt of a heavy crossbow is visible.

This ancient relic from the old wars has partially sunken itself into the 
ground and become a permanant addition to the battlefield.  Despite the decades
of neglect and the hundreds of arrowheads that have become imbedded in it, this 
war machine is in suprisingly good condition.  If only it were loaded it might
even work.  It seems to be rougly aimed at the North Gate.

Open of canyon~
The canyon opens gradually here, but it obviously was not always so.  Huge 
boulders and craters break the path into several smaller paths that weave 
drunkenly around each obstacle.  Distant shouting is audible from the north.  The
explosions have become deafeningly loud and the smell of burning flesh has filled 
the air.  North seems to lead towards the source of the disruption.

Entrance to the Canyon~
Before you towers a daunting vertical rock face.  The possibility of climbing it 
is completely unfathomable.  The trail leads north into a narrow canyon pass 
through the rock face and west towards what appears to be a small village.  A 
warning has been carved into the limestone you stand upon.

This village looks like a permanent war camp.  There are remnants of buildings
and huts everywhere, some built upon the ruins of others.  The standing shelter
is little more than a collection of poles with a roof.  Sickeningly thin women 
and children weave bits of leather armor and fashion spearheads out of stone.
 
Starvation and misery seem to be in charge around here.

The North Gates of Tryn Stronghold~
You are standing before the main gates of the Tryn Stronghold.  This
massive structure towers a hundred feet above your head.  Piled against 
the gates are the blackened remains of a thousand years' worth of 
would-be invaders and their weaponry.  The intricate carvings which 
cover the faces of the gates have been blackened through the years, but 
have not been damaged.  Perhaps there's magic at work here.

Gory depictions of Kin warriors slaughtering entire armies of various
races single-handedly surround two 20 foot tall tower shields, one on 
each gate.  Upon each shield a large glowing ruby skull has been 
inlayed above a black banner with a silvery inscription.

Winston Smith's Flat~
This flat is just like all the others in the building, save for a few small 
details.  There is a distinct smell of pine in the air, likely a sign of abuse 
of Victory Gin.  A small table holds a few objects including an overflowing 
ashtray and a small book that has accidentally been left open.  On the wall, as
on nearly every wall in Oceania nowadays, is a telescreen droning on and on 
about the lastest news on the war.

An overturned wagon~
What seems to have once been an armoured wagon has been turned upon its side 
and anchored in that position with large wooden stakes and hand-woven hemp 
ropes.  It seems to be the only usable shelter on the battlefield and the 
closest thing the tribals have to a fortification.  Regardless of its makeshift 
appearance, this flimsy barricade deflects the overhead barrage from the 
Stronghold effectively enough.

The Head Advisor's Chambers~
Ornate and expensive-looking paintings and sculptures all but fill the
room.  [#int >= 10: One hanging tapestry in particular grabs your attention.]Various golden baubles and bejeweled trinkets collect in piles on the
floor all around a four-post bed made of black iron.  The shackles on each
post look very worn, and the small array of surgical instruments hanging on
the walls make the surroundings seem quite sinister.

woven skulls of various luminosity.  Just below the moon in the picture

tapestry~
On the tapestry is a finely detailed depiction of an army atacking the
Three Gates of Tryn.  Massive siege weapons hit by red bolts of lightning
from the sky blaze brightly, casting an eerie light all throughout the
canyon of the Stronghold.  Soldiers trample on the mangled bodies of their
fallen comrades to advance towards the Northern Gate, from which a glowing
ruby skull pulses rings of blood red fire to incinerate the forward ranks.
Stormclouds gathered over the canyon rain down acid and oil upon the
invading army, and flaming arrows ignite large portions of the flooding
battlefield.  The moon hangs just above the Tower of Tryn in the night sky.

The King's Chambers~
This room is very nearly empty.  A small wooden cot sits in the far
northwest corner.  A short shelving unit is centered on the wall opposite
