The iron-work is twisted and the metal seems strangely blackened. A smooth black wall extends away on both sides. The surrounding vegetation closes in against the wall making movement to either side along the wall impossible. The wall rises 30 feet into the sky, above all the trees near it, making that way of entry impossible. It seems that the gateway is the only entrance. Beyond the wall you can perceive a tall tower. This hallway seems rather large for what you saw of the tower from the outside. The floor is polished black marble with red veins. The walls are made with some strange smooth black rock-like substance, and the ceiling is lost in the darkness. There is a doorway to the east and another to the west. Marble columns support a ceiling lost in darkness. At the far end, a large stone chair with carved skulls decorating it draws your attention. The walls are covered with strange tapestries that seem to have a life of their own. Each tapestry shows scenes of great mages overcoming powerful foes with equally great magics. ~ 0 D 0 D2 ~ ~ 0 -1 5089 S #5091 Stairwell~ The dominant feature of this room is a large circular stairway leading up into the tower. Each stair is made of some strange reddish stone, sanded smooth to a mirror-like finish. Pictures on the walls depict powerful looking figures dressed in robes and holding glowing staffs, rods and wands. ~ 0 D 0 D3 ~ ~ 0 -1 5089 D4 ~ ~ 0 -1 5096 S #5092 Cloakroom~ You stand in a large cloak room. Numerous pegs line the walls for the hanging of cloaks etc. You notice many fine ceremonial robes hanging from the pegs. Obviously travel cloaks are exchanged for dress cloaks here. A small passageway leads to the north. ~ 0 D 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 -1 5093 D1 ~ ~ 0 -1 5089 S #5093 Kitchen~ This room appears to be some sort of kitchen. Large tables lie scattered about the room and a huge fire bit has been dug in the centre of the floor. Sacks and barrels are neatly stored under the tables and food-scrapes litter the tabletops. ~ 0 D 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 -1 5094 D2 ~ ~ 0 -1 5092 S #5094 Storeroom~ This huge room is packed with barrels, crates, boxes and sacks. The smell of salt is strong here suggesting that many of the barrels are filled with salted meat and vegetables. Large stalls on each side wall provide housing for any type of best. Ceilings can barely be seen in this huge Arena. Heads of exotic beasts adorn the walls. Displays of more common, but still powerful beasts are situated around the walls. A massive statue of a fire giant with a plaque stands in the centre of the chamber. The most interesting display is a strange shadowy being held inside a magic circle. Carpets litter the floor and paintings of weird scenes adorn the walls. The exit back to the main hall is to the east and the stairway leads up... ~ 0 D 0 D1 ~ ~ 0 -1 5097 D4 ~ ~ 0 -1 5104 S #5101 Apprentices' Room~ You are in a smallish room with simple furnishings. A bookshelf occupies the north wall and is filled with books. A bed lies against the south wall and a cluttered desk is against the east wall. The exit is to the west. Scattered rugs lie about the floor. Each is made up of the skin of some unknown beast. ~ 0 D 0 D3 ~ ~ 0 -1 5098 S #5103 Small library~ You are in a small room about 30 by 30 feet. Bookshelves occupy all the available wall space and a large reading table is in the centre of the room. The books all seem to be of fairly basic nature although many of the titles appear to be in strange languages. The exit is to the east. ~ 0 D 0 D1 ~ ~ 0 -1 5098 S #5104 Guardroom~ This seems to be some sort of guardroom. A straightway leads down and another exit is to the east. This room has no furnishings at all. The walls, floors and ceiling are all bare. This room obviously prevents intruders from going any further into the tower. ~ 0 D 0 D1 ~ ~ 0 -1 5105 D5 ~ ~ 0 -1 5100 S #5105 Main Workshop~ This huge room is surely too large to fit within the tower. Tables, benches, shelves and stands are all laden with objects. This place is a MESS. Various jobs seem to be all in a state of semi-completion. Vaguely humanoid shapes molded out of various substances stand half done, large barrels that serve a rubbish bins lie overflowing and sometimes overturned about the room. You wonder how you can safely navigate your way across the room to the other exits. ~ 0 D 0 D0 ~ ~ 1 -1 5106 D1 ~ ~ 1 -1 5107 D2 ~ ~ 1 -1 5108 D3 ~ ~ 0 -1 5104 E objects benches shelves tables stands~ There is all manner of items strewn about. You see beakers, flasks, cages, jars, bottles, rocks, bags, boxes, books, manuals, tomes and scrolls. ~ S #5106 Storeroom~ This room is cluttered with everything that couldn't fit out in the laboratory or wasn't needed for immediate use. Although this room is jammed full of gear you notice a semblance of order here and the room is in fact very clean. Perhaps there is some order out in the laboratory like that present here, but you can't work it out. ~ 0 D 0 D2 ~ ~ 1 -1 5105 S #5107 Stairwell~ This is yet another large room with a large circular stairway dominant. The decorations here are more costly and elaborate. There is rich red carpet on the floor and up the steps. Beautiful mahogany banisters offer support. Incredible tapestries play out illusionary scenes of epic magical battles just like you were there. ~ 0 D 0 D3 ~ ~ 1 -1 5105 D4 ~ ~ 0 -1 5112 S #5108 Corridor~ This short corridor is richly furnished. Bookshelves line the walls and stand in neat rows about the room. Reading tables are piled with books, the bookshelves themselves look ready to burst. Books on every imaginable topic and a few more can be found here. Beautiful rugs, curtains, tapestries, and tables fill the room. A 6 foot high battlement runs around the edge.
