CONTENTS OF PACKAGE: You should find 8 files in this package: README -- this file spec_procs.vice -- the file with spec procs for both Oceania and Vice Island vice.mob -- don'tchaknow, the mobile file vice.obj -- the object file (duh!) vice.wld.1 -- the first zone vice.wld.2 -- the rest of vice island vice.zon.1 -- the first zone file vice.zon.2 -- one minor itty bitty thing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What Vice Island is: Vice Island is an evil-only area consisting of 20 mobiles, 40 objects, and 103 rooms. It's rather large for a medium-sized MUD and is intended to be used in concurrence with Oceania, another area I have submitted to the CircleMUD submissions directory. This area is intended to be part 1 of 4 subareas I have in mind for Oceania. It has mainly evil mobs, and almost all of the equipment in it is evil only. There are several spells in this that do not come directly with the CircleMUD package, a) for leviathan, there is a tidal wave spell with the exact same amount of damage but a different message, in order to keep with the oceanic theme. b) you'll need to add a detect good spell and a fear spell. the screaming scroll has the fear spell and the glowing blue potion has the detect good spell. c) if you don't have a full heal spell, you might want to change the purple potion of restoration into a 3-heal spell potion. the main thing is you need to go through each object and MAKE SURE that the flags etc on the objects and mobs are working. You are of course free to make any changes as the need arises. I have Vice Island working on my MUD (StrangeMUD), and you are of course welcome to write to me with problems. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I make no legal claim on Vice Island save this: You MUST give me credit for its design SOMEPLACE in your mud. You can hide it if you want, but I want some credit somewhere for it. :) I spent 6 months making Oceania and Vice Island, and I feel some need to have it known that my work is appreciated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are 3 things you will have to change right off: 1. Your zone numbers will have to be chosen by you. I have given zone 1 of Vice Island the "CC" letters. Do a search in your favourite text editor for it and change CC to whatever zone number you choose. The same applies to DD. 2. Two very special rooms have "OR" in them. Do a search in vice.wld.1 for them and change them to the exits you want them to be connected to your MUD on. I suggest you just go ahead and install Oceania too, as I have those numbers there already set up for them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have included some spec-procs. These may or may not be any good.
