     Incredibly thick, the forest effectively blocks out all sunlight
leaving you in near darkness. Small animal sounds reach your ears
as you look around, but nothing stirs in the trees or underbrush.

     The statues, though incredibly old, still hold much of their
past glory.  One, a man, looks almost like it could start moving

stand on either side of the bridge enterance holding it in place.

     Standing on the edge of the casm looking down, you watch as 
a small pebble falls from the lip, dissapearing into the inky

     Creaking with every step you make, the bridge sways lazily over
the deep casm.  Through the fog you can faintly make out the immense 
form of the building you have been noticing ahead of you.  The 
forest stands the south, and the bridge continues toward the north.

of the lumber beneath you give the impression that staying here
would be detrimental to your health. The bridge extends behind you
and ends shortly to your front.  The building looms ever higher

wildly on every outcrop that dots the casm wall.  You wonder if

In a clearing~
     You find your self standing in a small clearing, devoid of 
any brush or vegitation, almost as if there was a great fire here
once.  The fog has finally thined here, and before you stands a 
massive keep.  Darkness seems to eminate from the keep, and you 
can almost see the light being sucked into it.  Made of black 
marble, you wonder what wizardry could have possibly made such a
structure.  Spires reach high into the sky and dark windows peer
out at you like sockets in a skull.  You see the path splits here,
a faint trail wanders to the east and west and the main path 
continues north to the enterance of the keep.

     The enterance, though still a ways away, is blocked by two 
massive doors.

flickering of light comming from the top window.  It appears that
someone is still living here...

around it.

     You are standing on a small path running next to the massive 
keep.  On the othe side of you is the deep casm.  Thin brush lines 
the walls here, and the rocks are slick with the mist in the air.

turn a courner a ways away.  Though massively tall, the keep
obviously is not incredibly wide.  The casm proceeds on to the

way.  The brush is beginning to thicken, making progress more and

     As you push your way through the brush you see that the keep
does come to a corner here.  Extending toward the north now, you 
realise the reason for the turn is because the casm has also
taken a turn here traveling north.  The brush, so thick now,
prevents you from continuing on around the keep here.

of this keep intended this casm to act like a moat in times of

offering little in the way of footing as the rocks here are
very slick.  Thin brush has began to pop along the keep's wall

brush, leaves your feet open to fall into unnoticed holes in the 
ground.  The casm continues on to the west, though you can plainly

acting as a kind of moat for the keep.  The brush here is so thick
and thorny you fear that if you continue on, you will walk right

     High walls sit on both sides as well as in front of you as
you enter the courtyard.  Cobble stones line the ground here, with
sparce grass poking through here and there.  A fairly large area,
you notice that it extends east and west as well as north to the
staris leading up to the massive double doors.  A massive statue, 
perfectly white, in the form of a demon sits here.

a few lines of what appears to be a poem...

door, only this and nothing more...'

     The rest has been washed away by the rain and weather.  What
could it mean...

      Incredibly tall, the statue is that of a demon.  Wings sit 
on its back and a snarl on its face.  There is a look of evil so 
intense about it that you wonder if it is only a statue or something
more.  As you look at it more closely you see the eyes begin to 
burn red for an instant then go dark again.  At the base of the 
statue is a plaque with some writting on it.

     The cobble stones are as black as the keep is.  You wonder 
who would use this material for this purpose...

     You find yourself in the couryard of the keep.  To the 
north is more of the courtyard, and the west you see a massive
white statue.  The grass, growing up between the cobble stones, is 
stained dark here.  You wonder what could have caused the
discoloration.  The cobble stones here also have some deep scratches
in them, from what you would guess, is massive claws.

Apparently very heavy you wonder how one man can open and close 
these doors.  Scared and torn, the doors look as though they have
withstood many battering rams or other things.  Deep claw marks 
have gouged out deep creveses in the wood.  A tiny key hole is 
in one door.

     The doors are masive by any standards.  Though marred by time
and what looks like numerous battles, they still hold their 
original beauty.  Intricate carvings fill the surface, deplicting

these huge doors from invaders or unwanted guests...

Inside the Keep~
     The keep's enterance is no less specatular than the outside.  
Built entirely out of black marble streaked with random bits of 
crimson, the light here gives the floors a bloodstained loook that
you find a bit unsetteling.  The furniture is black as well, heavy
oaken pieces that are as intricately worked as the building's 
facade, cushioned in jet blackvelvet.  Red silk tassels and fine
red fringe edged black velveteen draperies, fixed slightly open
over the high arched windows.  There are bits of gold here and 
there...drawer handles, locks, opulent doorknobs...but the dramatic
darkness of the keep's interior is only intensified further by the
contrast.

Gleaming black hall~
     You are standing in a hall of gleaming black marble.  
Tapestries of black and crimson silk hang on the walls, rugs so
dark that only their texture makes them visible.  Though candles 
set in golden sconces along the wall had been lit some time ago,
by whom you could only guess, the cold stone sucks in their light
as soon as it is cast.
     The hall splits here going east and west, as well as further
north, deeper into the heart of the keep.

     The candles are old and very thick.  They appear to have 
been buring for some time now as wax runs down the side.

at all until you noticed a small rip near the wall.  How strange

     Made of black and crimson silk, scenes of battle are the 
major theme in each one you look at.  Incredibly detailed, you 
almost feel as if you are actually there with the men fighting,
and dieing...

In the black hall~
     You cannot get over how incredibly beautiful everything is
here, and how evil as well.  The evil seems to flow freely here
from every thing you see.  It is so thick, you swear you can 
almost reach out and touch it.  Out of the corner of your eye you
would swear that you can see things moving in the shadows from 
time to time.  Each time you turn your head, however, there is 
nothing there.
     Before you is a double door of black marble laced with thick
strands of silver.  The hall also continues back the way you came.

     The runes are in a language you have never seen.  As you 
begin to mouth out the sylables, you see the glow intensify for
a moment then return back to their normal state.

runes carved into them and give off a faint glow that the darkness 
cannot, or will not eat.

The Audience Chamber~
     The dark carpets give way here to the marble floors once 
again.  Polished to a mirror-like gleam, you feel as if you are
standing on a lake of blackness.  A high vaulted ceiling is
complimented by its impressively decorated arches.  The light here
gives the impression once again of the room having blood splashed
on the walls, and you wonder if it might really be.  A single 
throne sits in the middle of the room here.

     The rubies are imbedded so deeply into the throne that you

     The dragon is a work of art in itself.  Each scale is carved
and polished to perfection.  Made of gold with what looks like
silver thown in here and there for color, the dragon is truely
wonderous.  Its head thrown back prepairing to breath its deadly
breath weapon, you can see its eyes, that could only be rubies.

     Constructed from gold and black silk, the throne is beautiful.
Intricate carvings adorn the sides and arms depicting wonderous
creatures and battles of glory.  A single dragon adorns the upper
half of the back of the throne.

it is with the lack of the sunlight here.  Dark carpets flow easily
down the hall, and there are some pictures on the walls.

In the Atrium~
     You are blinded from the dazling beauty here.  Amazing
plants line every corner of this maginicant room from the very
floor on which you stand to the high vaulted ceiling.  Incredibly
there are even small birds and reptiles you can see and hear
every so often in the distance.  Seemingly able to contain itself,
this room has a small pool of running water in one corner, and 
some trees that appear to have fruit on them close by.

In the Atrium~
     This corner of the atrium is no less spectacular than the 
rest of the room.  Here you notice small animal tracks leading 
from the underbrush and plants to the small pool just to the north.
Among other things, the maker of this place included trees with
fruit on them, one of which is here.  Small birds twitter in the
upper rafters of the room overhead, and the water from the pool
splashes lazily against its banks.

     A short apple tree grows here.  You see some fruit growing 
on the tree, and as you look closer you notice that the tree itself
is giving off a strange glow.

     The apples growing on the tree appear to be your 
run-of-the-mill variety.  Red and very ripe looking, they glisten
in the sunlight filtering in from outside.

In the Atrium~
     Birds fly from the pool as you approach.  Clear water falls
from overhead in a waterfall sending mist into the air.  The 
plants are thick here from all the moisture and the animals seem
to gather here more than anywhere else in the room.  You can see
a small tree growing to the south and a small stream runns from
the pool to the east.

pool~
     The pool though not deep provides enough room for some small
fish to swim lazily in it and it apparently provides enough water
for this small ecosystem to live on.  A small trickle of water 
leaves to the east from here making a small stream cutting into
the fertile ground.

     The waterfall falls from a small ledge overhead.  There is
a small walkway leading right to it overhead that seems to go
around the outside edge of the room.

fish~
     You recognise the small fish as &YGold&w fish from their 
color.  They are much too fast for you to catch.

In the Atrium~
     This part of the atrium is much like the rest of the room.
Plants of all discriptions grow everywhere and the scent of all
the different flowers is nearly overwhelming.  The insects seem
to have be come a bit thicker here, and a low hum seems to 
permiate the air.
