#2200 In the forest~ Incredibly thick, the forest effectively blocks out all sunlight leaving you in near darkness. Small animal sounds reach your ears as you look around, but nothing stirs in the trees or underbrush. The faint path continues to the north. ~ 22 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2201 E underbrush~ The thick underbrush would make a good hiding place for small animals. Strangely you can't see nor hear any movement around you. ~ E trees~ The thick trees loom overhead effectively blocking out the sunlight. ~ S #2201 In the forest~ As you continue along the path you begin to notice the trees thinning out further north and what looks like a building of some sort rising above the forest canopy. The path continues toward the north. ~ 22 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2202 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2200 D5 ~ ~ 0 0 -1 E building~ A thick fog effectively reduces what you can make out about the building to the north. ~ S #2202 In the forest~ The forest, thinning out all around you, seems sickly here. The trees appear stunted, their branches drooping. A noxious fog is begining to creep in along the path from the north. Further north you can still see the building looming ever present above the tree tops. ~ 22 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2203 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2201 E building~ The thick fog effectively blocks your view of the building from here. Perhaps further up the path you can see better... ~ E fog~ The fog is incredibly thick and moves as if it has a mind of its own. ~ S #2203 On the casm~ As you break free of the dense forest, you find yourself standing on the edge of an incredibly deep casm, stretching far out of sight to the east and west. A single bridge spans the casm here, and though rickety and worn, it appears to be the only way across. ~ 22 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2204 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2202 E statues~ The statues, though incredibly old, still hold much of their past glory. One, a man, looks almost like it could start moving as it leers at you. The other, a woman, smiles grimly at you, its eyes seemingly to follow your every movement. ~ E bridge~ The bridge before you looks incredibly old. Two statues stand on either side of the bridge enterance holding it in place. ~ E casm~ Standing on the edge of the casm looking down, you watch as a small pebble falls from the lip, dissapearing into the inky blackness below. ~ S #2204 On the bridge~ Creaking with every step you make, the bridge sways lazily over the deep casm. Through the fog you can faintly make out the immense form of the building you have been noticing ahead of you. The forest stands the south, and the bridge continues toward the north. ~ 22 0 14 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2205 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2203 E casm~ Too deep for you to see the bottom, the casm stretches well beyond your sight to the east and west. ~ E building~ Still the fog keeps your impression of the building vauge. Perhaps if you got a bit closer... ~ E forest~ Tall and dark, the forest looms quietly waiting for your return...if you return. ~ E bridge~ This bridge has stood the test of time. Anchient and worn, it looks as if it could not support much more than a dog, and yet you are walking on it... ~ S #2205 On the bridge~ The bridge has further decomposed here. Sharp cracks and groans of the lumber beneath you give the impression that staying here would be detrimental to your health. The bridge extends behind you and ends shortly to your front. The building looms ever higher to the north, its sharp edges breaking through the fog here and there. ~ 22 0 14 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2206 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2204 E building~ You begin to wonder if the fog will ever thin out enough for you to get a good look at the building in front of you... ~ E bridge~ The bridge has grown quite dangerous to stand on at this point. As you look on, a plank falls silently away behind you leaving a gaping hole. ~ S #2206 On the casm~ Standing on the edge of the casm you notice that the building is becomming more and more recognizable through the fog. The bridge spans the casm to the south and the path continues to the north through the fog. ~ 22 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2207 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2205 E bridge~ The bridge spans the casm here. Old and rickety, you wonder how long it has been here and if it is safe to cross. ~ E building~ The building, though still covered by the fog, is huge. It appears much older than the bridge, and you wonder who built it. ~ E casm~ Jagged ledges mar this side of the casm. Stunted brush grows wildly on every outcrop that dots the casm wall. You wonder if there is a bottom down there... ~ S #2207 In a clearing~ You find your self standing in a small clearing, devoid of any brush or vegitation, almost as if there was a great fire here once. The fog has finally thined here, and before you stands a massive keep. Darkness seems to eminate from the keep, and you can almost see the light being sucked into it. Made of black marble, you wonder what wizardry could have possibly made such a structure. Spires reach high into the sky and dark windows peer out at you like sockets in a skull. You see the path splits here, a faint trail wanders to the east and west and the main path continues north to the enterance of the keep. ~ 22 0 2 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2215 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2208 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2206 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2211 E enterance~ The enterance, though still a ways away, is blocked by two massive doors. ~ E spires~ From your vantage point, you can make out two spires for sure. Reaching high into the sky like fingers, you can see small windows dot their surface every so often. In one spire, you notice a dim flickering of light comming from the top window. It appears that someone is still living here... ~ E marble~ The marble, deep black in color, seems to consume the light around it. ~ S #2208 On the path~ You are standing on a small path running next to the massive keep. On the othe side of you is the deep casm. Thin brush lines the walls here, and the rocks are slick with the mist in the air. ~ 22 0 2 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2209 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2207 E rocks~ The rocks here are covered by a thin film of mold from all the moisture in the air. ~ E casm~ The casm drops away from you here, leaving you wondering if there is indeed a botom to it. Further to the east it almost looks like it starts to turn back to the north... ~ E keep~ The keep's walls stretch high above you, it's top unseen through the thick mist overhead. The black surface mirrors your reflection back at you. Man, are you ugly... ~ S #2209 On the path~ Still on the path, you notice you that the keep appears to turn a courner a ways away. Though massively tall, the keep obviously is not incredibly wide. The casm proceeds on to the east and west here. ~ 22 0 2 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2210 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2208 E casm~ The casm appears to make a turn to the north further ahead, yet you still cannot make out the bottom... ~ E brush~ Full of thorns to rip and catch your armor, this brush is climbing the side of the keep. It is becomming increasingly thick and full. ~ E keep~ The walls are in worse shape here compaired to the enterance way. The brush is beginning to thicken, making progress more and more difficult. ~ S #2210 End of the path~ As you push your way through the brush you see that the keep does come to a corner here. Extending toward the north now, you realise the reason for the turn is because the casm has also taken a turn here traveling north. The brush, so thick now, prevents you from continuing on around the keep here. ~ 22 0 2 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2209 E brush~ The brush is too thick for you to continue onward from here. Perhaps it is best to turn around and go back. ~ E casm~ The casm turns from its path from east to west to go north from here. Still incredibly deep you think you can make out jagged rock formations at the bottom. Apparently the builders of this keep intended this casm to act like a moat in times of trouble. ~ S #2211 On the path~ This path creeps along the edge of the casm by the keep offering little in the way of footing as the rocks here are very slick. Thin brush has began to pop along the keep's wall here and sparatic vegitaiton grows up from the casm wall. ~ 22 0 2 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2207 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2212 E wall~ The wall of the massive keep, though incredibly black still reflects your image back at you. ~ E rocks~ The rocks here are covered with a thin mold making them very slick. ~ E vegetation~ The vegetation is thin and unhealthly looking as it snakes it's way up from the casm wall. Incredibly thorny, you know it would shred your hand if you held on to it. ~ E casm~ The casm here is impossibly deep and you still cannot fathom the bottom through the darkness. ~ S #2212 On the path~ The path continues here, growing more trecherous each step. The brush, growing more firmly here, catches at your armor and tears your skin with each step. The casm continues on here, though you think you can make out a turn to the west. ~ 22 0 2 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2211 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2213 E casm~ Darkness looms up at you from the depths of the casm here. You still cannot see the bottom, nor do you really wish to see it at this point. ~ S #2213 On the path~ The path, a faint marking of something's passing by this time, has grown quite dangerous. Forcing your legs through the thick brush, leaves your feet open to fall into unnoticed holes in the ground. The casm continues on to the west, though you can plainly see it curving to the north up ahead. ~ 22 0 0 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2212 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2214 E casm~ You almost can make out what you think is a bottom to the deep casm here. With no way down at this point though, you cannot be sure, nor are you sure you wish to find out... ~ S #2214 End of the path~ Despite your better judgement you have made it to the end of the path. You see that the casm has indeed turned north here, acting as a kind of moat for the keep. The brush here is so thick and thorny you fear that if you continue on, you will walk right off the edge of the casm, falling to your death. ~ 22 0 2 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2213 E brush~ Even animals cannot live in the brush here. You see the skeleton of some unfortunate animal tangled deep in the brush, its skeleton, a warning to others to go no further. ~ E casm~ The casm turn to the north here as you thought. Though deep you are certain you can make out rock formations at the bottom, or what you think is the bottom. There appears to be no way down from here. ~ S #2215 In the courtyard~ High walls sit on both sides as well as in front of you as you enter the courtyard. Cobble stones line the ground here, with sparce grass poking through here and there. A fairly large area, you notice that it extends east and west as well as north to the staris leading up to the massive double doors. A massive statue, perfectly white, in the form of a demon sits here. ~ 22 0 1 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2219 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2217 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2207 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2216 E plaque~ The plaque is old and faded with time, but you can make out a few lines of what appears to be a poem... ...while I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. 'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, 'tapping at my chamber door, only this and nothing more...' The rest has been washed away by the rain and weather. What could it mean... ~ E statue~ Incredibly tall, the statue is that of a demon. Wings sit on its back and a snarl on its face. There is a look of evil so intense about it that you wonder if it is only a statue or something more. As you look at it more closely you see the eyes begin to burn red for an instant then go dark again. At the base of the statue is a plaque with some writting on it. ~ E stones~ The cobble stones are as black as the keep is. You wonder who would use this material for this purpose... ~ S #2216 In the courtyard~ You find yourself in the couryard of the keep. To the north is more of the courtyard, and the west you see a massive white statue. The grass, growing up between the cobble stones, is stained dark here. You wonder what could have caused the discoloration. The cobble stones here also have some deep scratches in them, from what you would guess, is massive claws. ~ 22 0 1 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2220 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2215 E stones~ The cobble stones here have deep scratches in them from what you would guess could only be claws. ~ E grass~ The grass here, though sparce, has been stained by something making them dark in color. There seems to be more of the dark color in the ground between the cobble stones themselves, in small round shapes...reminds you of how blood looks as it hits the ground. ~ S #2217 In the courtyard~ You find yourself in the courtyard of the dark keep. The black walls seem to suck the very light from the air around you, making you shiver. Cobble stones line the ground here, bits of grass poking through any crack they can find. To the west is the massive statue and to the north is more of the courtyard. ~ 22 0 1 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2218 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2215 S #2218 In the courtyard~ You find yourself in the corner of the courtyard. The darkness seems unusually thick here and seems almost to have a life of its own. You feel the hair on your arms rise up from the feeling that you are being watched... ~ 22 0 1 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2217 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2219 E darkness~ The darkness seems to move this way and that, like a thing capable of thought. As you watch, it seems to get darker in one section of the wall, then it seems to move to another section of the wall... ~ S #2219 In the courtyard~ You stand in a courtyard. The massive walls of the keep tower over you, stealing away your breath at the sheer size of them. Stairs begin their accent to the doors ahead, and the massive form of the statue lies to the south. ~ 22 0 1 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2218 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2215 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2220 D4 ~ ~ 0 0 2221 E reflection~ Whoa...you need to get some sleep! ~ E stairs~ The stairs are jet black like the keep's walls here. Though time has taken its toll on them, they still retain a high shine in which you can make out your reflection. ~ S #2220 In the courtyard~ You stand in the courner of the courtyard. Here nothing grows, not even the grass you have noticed everywhere else from between the cobble stones. A strange darkness seems to eminate from the very walls of the keep here. ~ 22 0 1 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2219 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2216 E walls~ Darkness seems to come from the very walls here along with comming from the very ground on which you stand. It is not so much a visul darkness but one of pure evil... ~ E darkness~ The darkness seems to come from the walls of the keep and the very ground on which you stand. It is not so much a visual darkness but one of pure evil... ~ S #2221 On the stairs~ You find yourself on the stairs leading to the massive double doors of the keep. Polished to a high sheen, you can make out your reflection in them as you walk upward. Just ahead is the landing before the doors, and to the south is the massive statue. ~ 22 0 1 D4 ~ ~ 0 0 2222 D5 ~ ~ 0 0 2219 E reflection~ Quit admiring yourself and get to looking around! ~ S #2222 On the landing~ Before you stands the massive double doors of the castle. Apparently very heavy you wonder how one man can open and close these doors. Scared and torn, the doors look as though they have withstood many battering rams or other things. Deep claw marks have gouged out deep creveses in the wood. A tiny key hole is in one door. ~ 22 0 1 D5 ~ ~ 0 0 2221 O ~ enter~ enter~ $n looks back as the doors close silently...~ 1 0 2223 E doors~ The doors are masive by any standards. Though marred by time and what looks like numerous battles, they still hold their original beauty. Intricate carvings fill the surface, deplicting scenes of men fighting and killing, great beasts, and wonderous treasure. ~ E keyhole~ This tiny keyhole appears to be the only thing that locks these huge doors from invaders or unwanted guests... ~ S #2223 Inside the Keep~ The keep's enterance is no less specatular than the outside. Built entirely out of black marble streaked with random bits of crimson, the light here gives the floors a bloodstained loook that you find a bit unsetteling. The furniture is black as well, heavy oaken pieces that are as intricately worked as the building's facade, cushioned in jet blackvelvet. Red silk tassels and fine red fringe edged black velveteen draperies, fixed slightly open over the high arched windows. There are bits of gold here and there...drawer handles, locks, opulent doorknobs...but the dramatic darkness of the keep's interior is only intensified further by the contrast. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2224 O ~ exit~ exit~ $n looks back as the shadows seem to drift after him...~ 1 0 2218 S #2224 Gleaming black hall~ You are standing in a hall of gleaming black marble. Tapestries of black and crimson silk hang on the walls, rugs so dark that only their texture makes them visible. Though candles set in golden sconces along the wall had been lit some time ago, by whom you could only guess, the cold stone sucks in their light as soon as it is cast. The hall splits here going east and west, as well as further north, deeper into the heart of the keep. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2225 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2228 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2223 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2227 E candles~ The candles are old and very thick. They appear to have been buring for some time now as wax runs down the side. ~ E rip~ The rip is small by any standard, yet it disturbs you that with all the beauty here, this one thing has gone unnoticed. ~ E rugs~ You would not have realised that you were standing on a rug at all until you noticed a small rip near the wall. How strange that in this place of utter perfection, that a rip would go unnoticed by its caretaker... ~ E tapestries~ Made of black and crimson silk, scenes of battle are the major theme in each one you look at. Incredibly detailed, you almost feel as if you are actually there with the men fighting, and dieing... ~ S #2225 In the black hall~ You cannot get over how incredibly beautiful everything is here, and how evil as well. The evil seems to flow freely here from every thing you see. It is so thick, you swear you can almost reach out and touch it. Out of the corner of your eye you would swear that you can see things moving in the shadows from time to time. Each time you turn your head, however, there is nothing there. Before you is a double door of black marble laced with thick strands of silver. The hall also continues back the way you came. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ doors~ 1 0 2226 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2224 E runes~ The runes are in a language you have never seen. As you begin to mouth out the sylables, you see the glow intensify for a moment then return back to their normal state. ~ E door~ The double door before you is polished to a mirror like gleam and laced with thick strands of silver. The strands have runes carved into them and give off a faint glow that the darkness cannot, or will not eat. ~ S #2226 The Audience Chamber~ The dark carpets give way here to the marble floors once again. Polished to a mirror-like gleam, you feel as if you are standing on a lake of blackness. A high vaulted ceiling is complimented by its impressively decorated arches. The light here gives the impression once again of the room having blood splashed on the walls, and you wonder if it might really be. A single throne sits in the middle of the room here. ~ 22 0 0 D2 ~ door double~ 1 0 2225 O Nothing. ~ nothing~ e~ $n steps into the wall and dissapears!~ 0 0 2234 E rubies~ The rubies are imbedded so deeply into the throne that you would have to actually take the entire thing to just get the rubies. ~ E dragon~ The dragon is a work of art in itself. Each scale is carved and polished to perfection. Made of gold with what looks like silver thown in here and there for color, the dragon is truely wonderous. Its head thrown back prepairing to breath its deadly breath weapon, you can see its eyes, that could only be rubies. ~ E throne~ Constructed from gold and black silk, the throne is beautiful. Intricate carvings adorn the sides and arms depicting wonderous creatures and battles of glory. A single dragon adorns the upper half of the back of the throne. ~ S #2227 A gleaming hallway~ The hallway actually gets darker here, if that was possible. It is becomming more and more difficult to determine what time it is with the lack of the sunlight here. Dark carpets flow easily down the hall, and there are some pictures on the walls. The hall continues to the east and west. ~ 22 0 0 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2224 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2229 E plaque~ Brushing away the dust you can barely make out the words... 'Drunamour Keep' There is more below the title of the picture, but it is unreadable... ~ E pictures~ The pictures that line the walls here are of a family. A larger one of a group of people, and singles of a man and woman. The pictures of the man and woman look frighteningly like the statues you noticed at the bridge. There is also a picture of the keep you now stand in. A small plaque is attached to the picture at the bottom. ~ S #2228 A dark hallway~ The hallway here looks like it grows lighter further down and you can almost see a flicker of movement up ahead. Short tables dot the sides of the hall here and there. There appears to be a mirror or two on the walls also. The hall continues east and west from here. ~ 22 0 0 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2224 E mirrors~ The mirrors are just that. Framed in silver they do their job well and reflect your face back at you. ~ E tables~ The tables though short, appear to be well made. There is nothing on them however. ~ S #2229 A dark hallway~ The hallway continues here becommingly more and more dark. You are now certain that someone or something is watching you. More than once you have glimpsed something further up the hall, only for it to be gone by the time you get there. Something is just not right here. The hall continues east and west from here and there is a door to the north. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ door~ 1 0 2270 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2227 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2230 S #2230 A dark junction~ You have come to a junction in the hallway. You see that you can proceed either north, south or back the way you came. There is also a door to the west. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2240 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2229 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2243 D3 ~ door~ 1 0 2231 S #2231 The Library~ As you enter this room you realise you are totally surrounded by the single largest book collection you have ever seen. Books line the shelves from the floor up to the vaulted ceiling high above. Rows upon rows fill this room, and it appears that the librabry continues north as well as south. There are a few tables here with scattered books on them. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2232 D1 ~ door~ 1 0 2230 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2233 D3 I want a secret passage here with a moving bookshelf when a book is pulled from the book case. ~ bookshelf~ 4 0 2244 E drunamour~ The pages are torn and tattered making the task of desiphering the garbled words a chore... '...I still do not understand what happend. Things flying at me...shadows.....ran, and ran........a scream...my wife... The rest is faded and so smeared that you cannot make out any words. You can make out a date however...it reads a date no more than a few days ago... ~ E books~ One book in particular catches your attention here. It is titled 'A Working History of Drunamour'. Others like 'Demonology Made Easy' and 'Everything you need to know about Hell and Its Minions' are laying here. ~ E tables~ The tables are incredibly long stretching nearly from one end of this room to the other. There appears to be a few books laying scattered upon the tables. ~ S #2232 In the library~ This part of the library is no less spectatcular than the rest of it. There is a long table in this room as well on it is a few books that appear to have been read repeatedly. ~ 22 0 0 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2231 E lost~ Turning the book to the marker you read... '...remember the story about some kids that wandered into the woods droping bread crumbs? Not a bad idea, use something a bit more durable...' ~ E hide~ Opening the book to a marked page you read... '...interestingly enough you can make a secret passage out of almost anything. Books, statues, chairs can even be a trigger to open a secret passage. The biggest thing in not getting caught is to not be obvious about how you place them...' ~ E table~ This long table, though very old appears to be very sturdy as it holds the weight of a few of these mamoth books easily. Getting a closer look at the books you read 'How to HIDE and get away with it' on one, and another reads 'How to never get LOST in a round room'. Interesting reading... ~ S #2233 In the library~ This end of the library is filled with books, much the same as the rest of the library. Here and there you see books laying the table that occupies a corner of the room. ~ 22 0 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2231 E table~ This table is small compaired to the others. On it you see a few books about paper mache, and one on making your own moonshine but other than that, there doesn't seem to be anything of interest here. ~ S #2234 In a Secret Hall~ You have stumbled onto a secret passage! Unused for some time now, it is filled with spider webbs and thick with dust. This must have been the owners private passage to get out in times of extreme danger. Amazing plants line every corner of this maginicant room from the very floor on which you stand to the high vaulted ceiling. Incredibly there are even small birds and reptiles you can see and hear every so often in the distance. Seemingly able to contain itself, this room has a small pool of running water in one corner, and some trees that appear to have fruit on them close by. ~ 22 8192 0 D2 ~ door~ 1 0 2242 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2274 S #2274 In the Atrium~ This corner of the atrium is no less spectacular than the rest of the room. Here you notice small animal tracks leading from the underbrush and plants to the small pool just to the north. Among other things, the maker of this place included trees with fruit on them, one of which is here. Small birds twitter in the upper rafters of the room overhead, and the water from the pool splashes lazily against its banks. ~ 22 8192 0 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 2275 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2273 E tree~ A short apple tree grows here. You see some fruit growing on the tree, and as you look closer you notice that the tree itself is giving off a strange glow. ~ E apple fruit~ The apples growing on the tree appear to be your run-of-the-mill variety. Red and very ripe looking, they glisten in the sunlight filtering in from outside. ~ S #2275 In the Atrium~ Birds fly from the pool as you approach. Clear water falls from overhead in a waterfall sending mist into the air. The plants are thick here from all the moisture and the animals seem to gather here more than anywhere else in the room. You can see a small tree growing to the south and a small stream runns from the pool to the east. ~ 22 8192 0 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 2276 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 2274 E pool~ The pool though not deep provides enough room for some small fish to swim lazily in it and it apparently provides enough water for this small ecosystem to live on. A small trickle of water leaves to the east from here making a small stream cutting into the fertile ground. ~ E waterfall~ The waterfall falls from a small ledge overhead. There is a small walkway leading right to it overhead that seems to go around the outside edge of the room. ~ E fish~ You recognise the small fish as &YGold&w fish from their color. They are much too fast for you to catch. ~ S #2276 In the Atrium~ This part of the atrium is much like the rest of the room. Plants of all discriptions grow everywhere and the scent of all the different flowers is nearly overwhelming. The insects seem to have be come a bit thicker here, and a low hum seems to permiate the air. ~ 22 8192 0 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 2275 S $~
