Welcome to New Moon. The basic concept of New Moon is to allow an AD&D style area, while still allowing for advanced High Tech areas. To this end, the home world "New Moon" is where a player first logs in and starts his/her/it's life of adventuring. The home world is an isolated world that doesn't have any contact with the high tech ways of the off world planets. Well, at least not very many people know about it's connection to the off world realms. There is one area in a grassy field that has a 6' circle of silver balls that are about 2' in diameter. Some may recognize this as a transmat field ala Dr. Who. This will provide the connection to a remote part of one of the high tech worlds. Since this is an ancient transmat system, most (95%?) high tech items don't survive the transmat trip. Although this will allow an occasional blaster to make it back (maybe with limited charges) so that the irate player can blast that Ogre that's been such a pain in the ass for so long..... From the first high tech world, the adventurer will have to travel to to a city to hitch a ride to other worlds, or just stay on that world. Mind you gold might not be worth what it once was :). The player will have to earn credits, and generally integrate into the new high tech world(s). Transport ships will be available to get from one place to another. There may also be some form of transport beam. Most worlds will have customs, so only the good thieves will be able to move some of the more nasty weaponry around from planet to planet. New Moon Rules: There will be very few rules on New Moon (we hope). Mostly there will be guide lines. A wizard tapping a keg with a player or two will be fine, let's just not take it to extremes, and have a party going all the time. Wizards are encouraged to login as players and check out new areas. Player killing will only be allowed between players that have agreed to enter into player killing. Once a player is a PK-er, they will always be a PK-er. Theft from players will only be allowed between PK-ers. Bannor - 4/3/93
