There are 2 scripts (in the utils/ directory) that I wrote for backing up
and restoring files..and 1 for deleting old backups.

'backup' should be typed with NO arguments and backs up the important
talker files (which are just about all of them) to the 'utils/backupd' directory
in a file labeled as <today's date>backup.tar.gz

'restore' takes 2 arguments. The first is the date of the archive you want
to restore from. The 2nd is optional and specifies the files you want
restored. If you want all files restored, leave the 2nd argument blank.
The 2nd argument is based upon the directory structure from the main
directory..see examples below.

 The files will be restored into a directory labeled as..
  utils/backupd/restored/<the archive date>

Examples:
 If today is Jan 2nd, 1998, to backup all files..
 Type: cd utils
 Type: ./backup
 Backup archive is placed as the file utils/backupd/010298backup.tar.gz

 To restore all files from the 010298 backup..
 Type: cd utils
 Type: ./restore 010298
 All files are restored to the directory utils/backupd/restored/010298

 To restore only the mail files from the 010298 backup..
 Type: cd utils
 Type: ./restore 010298 maildir
 All files are restored to a directory utils/backupd/restored/010298/maildir

Then you can copy which files you need over to the real directories

'trimbackups' is a program to delete backups <# of days> old. 
To compile it, go into utils/ and type:  make trimbackups
It's usage is:
	trimbackups <backup directory> <# of days to keep>

<backup directory> is the directory the backups are in..usually backupd
This can be a relative or absolute pathname.
<# of days to keep> is a number specifying the number of days YOUNG a file
must be to keep it. If a file is OLDER than this many days it will be
deleted.
Example..If you're in the utils directory with backups in the backupd
diretory and you want to delete files more than 3 days old, you would
type:  ./trimbackups backupd 3
