Just thought I'd mention the currently active "main" I3 router.

Currently, the most popular I3 router is yatmim, and you
can find more information on it here: http://lpmuds.net/intermud.html

That is, however, not the "official" intermud.org sponsored router. That
router was called gjs and has been dead for months. :(

The official intermud-3 specs and information can still be
found at their website: http://intermud.org

You'd think after all this time that someone would have prodded Greg into getting gjs back up. Last I saw it went down in 2005 and I don't recall it ever coming back in 2006, but I gave up on it somewhere around this time last year.

It was up very inconsistently for some of 2006, then gave up the ghost
in early August. Sad. Caused a lot of sadness and eventually it caused
heartache when refugees from gjs came to yatmim with their old bad habits.

Still, things are chugging along rather smoothly.

I asked Greg for some stuff but haven't heard back. I don't blame him..
he's a millionaire after the Microsoft buyout and he's now the chairman of
the Apache foundation, as well as having his finger in various other
pies. Busy guy, and this mud stuff is part of his old life.
But if any of youse have a way of contacting him other
than his standard email address, please let him know that I'd like to
chat with him, if he has a minute.

I include the router code in the Dead Souls distro, so that if *I* should
ever fall off the earth, at least someone will be able to take the initiative and
run a router with a minimum of pain.
