Act of War has been live since December of 1998. It is a heavily modified Rom codebase. In AoW players can participate in pk as well as rp. Both are encouraged. Choose from a wide range of races and classes in an all original world. Players will reclass at level 20 branching into various sub classes to continue on their journey to Legendary status!

Struggling to your feet you take inventory: wounded body, a chaingun
, one last clip of ammo, one fragmentation grenade, and the iron-will to look past those odds. Corpses of Blackhand's entire
regiment litter the ground around you. Only a few survivors remain,
and calling them survivors is a stretch.

Wild bolts of lightning blast across the sky, announcing the
death of Yet another of the reborn. In the tracks left by the
lightning,graceful, metal wings can be seen, beating against the gray
clouds. She is coming for you, the reborn. Slapping your last clip
into your chaingun, you watch as the avenging angel drops out of
the sky and lands before you, folding her wings around her body like
a cloak. A Black metal hand draws a white blade from the
glinting scabbard at her hip. As the avenging angel raises
the blade to strike, you compress the trigger and begin firing.

A hail of bullets wash over the winged woman, most just
bouncing off her black skin like sand in the wind. Grimly,
you pull the pin on the grenade and hold your last hope in
your hand. You may be dead a minute from now, but you are
determined not to go alone… This is your last stand, this is war,
this is, CYBERASSAULT…

MUD: In online gaming, a MUD (originally Multi-User Dungeon, with later variants Multi-User Dimension and Multi-User Domain), pronounced /m?d/, is a multi-user real-time virtual world. Most MUDs are represented entirely in text, but graphical MUDs are not unknown. MUDs combine elements of role-playing games, hack and slash, interactive fiction, and online chat. Players can read or view depictions of rooms, objects, other players, non-player characters, and actions performed in the virtual world. Players typically interact with each other and the world by typing commands that resemble a natural language.

Traditional MUDs implement a fantasy world populated by fictional races and monsters, with players being able to choose from a number of classes in order to gain specific skills or powers. The object of this sort of game is to slay monsters, explore a fantasy world, complete quests, go on adventures, create a story by roleplaying, and advance the created character. Restarted game from the mid to early 90's. Known as TOC or DLL (formerly Dragons of Legends and Lore) I am one of the original Implementors and am currently playing with the code to add new features. The game offers a new race, several new classes, many new skills/spells, as well quite a few new things that a stock ROM would not offer.

Amitoune, the way of the Ambitious, is a well established Smaug Mud, with over fifty areas, and more on the way, 100 player levels + 100 guild levels, four base classes, each with three orders, and ten guilds. Amitoune is under constant development, and currently in Open Beta. Amitoune has competitive, and open PvP, as well as openness to roleplay. New characters will likely find help from one of our oldbies, and be taken through the ropes.

Aragond: the Chronicles is the first chapter in an epic story about a world being discovered, developed, and protected against outside threat. Play any of 9 class and 10 race combinations, with the ability to multiclass later on, giving immense options in your character's potential array of abilities. Random loot drops combined with pre-defined objects give players many options for their equipment.

BucketMUD is a single-threaded hack-and-slash MUD engine, based on the EmberMUD server. It is currently in a state of heavy, unstable development.

Development is coordinated through GitHub, with a public read-only git repository for developers to pull the current code from and an issues database for tracking bugs, feature requests, and other tasks. Forums are available for in-depth discussion about ongoing development.

The Lands of Aethar is an old SMAUG MUD which ran for over 15 years. Now it has been shut down, but the world remains online, frozen in time as an HTML snapshot. This is the only SMAUG MUD in the world, and one of very few MUDs at all, whose entire universe can be navigated through the mainstream HTML internet.
Duskwood is a fantasy theme MUD.
We had started with stock areas, but while for now, we keep the updated stock areas,
we have add a lot of areas with new server feutures.
We support the idea, that areas must feel alive and have a reason to be created.
So each areas bring something new to the game :)

Worlds of Carnage started as a Diku based MUD in the early 90s. It has seen several generations of code improvement and addition and has close to 100 fully developed areas (not auto-generated ones, but honest to God someone worked on them areas…). It supports active multi-classing in a system that doesn't allow for blatantly overpowered combinations and it is a full-time PK MUD. New players are encouraged to start in either Elip (easier leveling) or Elkin (easier access to new user materials and trainers.)
Asgardian Nightmare has a long and successful history. Peaking at a
playerbase of as many as 30 players on at a time, this mud was a very
good mud.

But the mud was closed down for a while.After a long period of downtime
the mud is reopen again for players under a new look and with new Owners
and Immortals, and with a new site. Allow me to describe a little bit
this mud :

One of the most outstanding parts of our mud
is random item generation. It works like the items in Diablo 2, where an
item is assigned prefixes and suffixes that give it extra stat bonuses or
drawbacks.

With a huge number of prefixes and suffixes, as well as condition tags,
there are literally millions of possibilities for random items.
Builders are constantly working on new areas, so the mud is constantly
evolving. We offer three tiers of classes, with 21 third tier classes to
choose from, and the option to let your race evolve into one of many new
races as you gain experience.
