I blame Antarctica, you cannot trust Penguins. On a more serious note, I agree with Samson that the onus of proof is with the person making the accusation as i highly doubt that any of the admins have the time to collect it.

But penguins are SOOO cute! Plus, they're the mascot of Linux..

I also thing that initially all allegations of license violation should be PM'd to admins, along with supporting evidence to be investigated before they are put on trial in the court of public opinion. Casual statements like "X game is a known license violator" are IMO highly slanderous and inflammatory when not backed with any supporting evidence and is likely lead to big arguments and bitter rivalries when incorrect.

Hmm, maybe that's why TMC has so many trolls and flamers, folks over there are always bandying about Mercthievia...

I don't know if that's the reason why, but i do agree that those sort of discussions become tiresome after a while. IMO those types of discussions do not lead to the quality of discussions that we enjoy on this site, nor do they lead to people collaborating on other projects and the like.

Agreed, those sorts of discussions are usually primarily there to instigate "venting" (flaming) and promote debates about license term meanings (arm-chair lawyering), neither of which is very productive when those debates have already taken place so many times on so many sites over the years that we've all already heard every angle and yet still no one has bothered to take the matter to court either. I also agree that the discussions we've had here (with a few noted exceptions) have generally been much higher quality and far more enjoyable than most of the ones I've read there and I suspect it is largely because we don't have those sorts of discussions here nearly as often.
