This has always been an issue for me too.  For example: say you are writing a street or road.
Do you take the time to write a description for each room until you get to something "interesting",
like a store or other building?  Or, do you just copy / paste the descriptions and tweak them accordingly?

I suppose its a bit off topic, but it seems like automatic description generation would be in order.

It gets tedious trying to find ways to describe the same stretch of scenery for too long... but alas, I strive to make all of my descriptions unique from one another :p

The way I did it, was every other two rooms would have a varied description. That way going through ten rooms wouldnt look the EXACT same, but still wouldnt require a best seller novelist to describe them.
The reason I flew with smaug was because I found out about it on the forums from mushclient provider. As Hades and Lyanic know, Im hailing from playing a DB mud and its been suggested that since we are familar with that system we use the old dbs code. Smaug however has the race/class setup that will prove to be a keystone for the universe I envision. Ive never dealt with circlemud...

As far as CircleMUD goes, you'll want either tbaMUD or one of the CWG branches. I'd recommend tbaMUD in this case though.
