If I were to do it, it would be for the fun of it. However, my MUD does have performance worries for a variety of reasons… It likely shouldn't, but I suppose that's what you get for your ancestor's decision to build off of Smaug/SWR.

You can fairly easily optimize your MUD's performance issues without completely rewriting the architecture to move to a cloud-based distributed design.
