Have you tried looking at other Python MUD codebases out there? If anything, it will give you an idea of how these things work.

I tried looking up codebases for Python, but I couldn't find any. :/

I'm not an expert in Python, but I know a good bit of it.

I searched like this – there are some good links to start with there.

In fact, on the front page, there is a link to a very simple single-player game.

It so happens that the author of Evennia happens to hang out in this forum, such as in this thread where other people discuss basic Python MUDs.

It's about a year out of date but I think there's only a couple of new codebases it doesn't include. Should be enough examples to get you rolling.
