I keep having this problem when MudBytes changes their server. The last time, Kayle…dunno, fixed me :P I think he said he removed my entry from the server so that I could autosetup again, but I presume that most people don't have this problem, so while it'd be great if someone did that for me again, I'd also like to know if there's something I can do to correct it on my end. When my MUD (Deaths_Sanctuary) tries to connect to Server 01, it connects, receives the channels, ban list and ucache data, then spits this out:
Wed Jul 29 18:40:48 2009 :: IMC: Invalid authentication response received from authentication!!
Wed Jul 29 18:40:48 2009 :: IMC: Data received: SHA-256 authentication is required.
Wed Jul 29 18:40:48 2009 :: IMC: Shutting down network.

It definitely works perfectly fine until they undergo a server change…any thoughts?

Does your config file look like

Quote
#SHA256 auth: 0 = disabled, 1 = enabled
SHA256 1
#Your server is expecting SHA256 authentication now. Do not remove this line unless told to do so.
SHA256Pwd 1

at the bottom?

Try "imcconfig sha256pass" and see if it lets you connect now.

Thanks both of you. It was missing that line, and setting that toggle done fixed me up right.
